I bought my Canon 7d DSLR in july 2010. Also got it with the extended Black tie plan that comes with an annual cleaning. So, since i was going to be taking a trip let me have the camera cleaned. I noticed a hot pixel now and then usually indicative of dust on the mirror.
So on 6/20/11 I dropped it off to geek squad. No problem and it stated it should be ready 7/1. No problem, my trip is not until 7/6. I called on 6/30/11 to see if it will be on time and they said it needs to be replaced. I was like WTF? There was nothing wrong with my camera why does it need to be replaced. They could not tell me why. They said it they were notified on 6/27/2011 but no one called me. I asked for more detail and said I had to talk to precision. I HAVE TO TALK? I didn't drop the camera off to them, I dropped it off to Geek squad. Nonetheless, i called and still no resolution other they said to go to the store for an exchange. I get to the store, the lady is like well we don't have your camera is stock but we have a comparable Canon t2i rebel. I go are you serious? They are not comparable. I asked can we overnight it, they said yes but it will cost me 55 dollars. WTF again? You guys screwed up, nothing to do with me, can't tell me why the camera needs to be replaced which tells me they screwed up, dropped it or whatever, but now wants me to pay the 55 dollars? After back and forth they paid for it but because NO ONE called me on Monday, I am waiting for the package to come today. Talk about last minute and all because Best Buy, Geek squad and Precision have the poorest customer service around. I can handle them breaking my camera just don't lie about it.
