Spotlight sotres extended file information (xattr) for only a few filesystem types.
It can accelerate search on AFP shares, but SMB and WebDAV is ignored.
It seems Mac OS X only checks for some filesystems for xattr support.
SMB and WebDAV are ignored, but there are implementations which have support for xattr. This results in a severe pollution of ._ resource fork files on network shares.
It would be great if TotalFinder checked for xattr support on connection to the network share, and stopped creating resource forks for files on shares with extended attributes support.
