Can't print from a Chromebook

I have used Boardmaker since it was published in multi-colored books. I was excited to be able to then have it on disc and now my district wants to convert to online version. I have signed up for the trial to make sure it works with our technology before ordering but I am having problems printing. I press print, it asked the first set of questions but then the next set such as which printer I want to use does not come up. What am I doing incorrectly. THANKS I am the person asked to try it out before we purchase online version.

  • Hi Patricia.

This is a known issue. We recognize that many customers are moving to Chromebooks, not just for students, but for teachers as well. We have done extensive testing and found that Boardmaker 0nline can print to some cloud printers and not others. Rather than attempt to fix the printing, we’re converting the app to automatically print to PDF. This feature will ensure that printouts will be consistent and reliable. I do not currently have an ETA on when this feature will be released. In the meantime you can log into your account on a regular PC or MAC and print from there as a workaround.

  • This is the same issue we are facing. As a School District, we are moving towards Chromebooks and away from Mac/PC, that is happening. Whether we will be able to continue to use Boardmaker in our schools is not decided, but I am thinking that we may need to explore other options for this service.

Being able to print directly from a Chrome browser or more importantly from a Chromebook to a Google Cloud Printer is essential if we decide to stay with this product that we have used for years.
