Eyemax and BoardmakerShare

Hi,
I am new at this. I understand that the premade boards/activities from BoardmakerShare can be used with the DynaVox Eyemax communication device.
My questions are:

1. Do I need to use the boards that are interactive?

2. Can I modify the premade boards/activities from BoardmakerShare once they have been put into the Eyemax? My daughter is only 3 and very new to eyegaze communication. I have found some boards that she will like, but they have too many buttons/pictures on them.

Thank you,
Jenni

  • Hi Jenni,

The EyeMax uses Series 5 software. You can import Boardmaker files into the Series 5 software. You would need to start by downloading the files and saving them. I would suggest saving the files to a USB Flash Drive. You will then need to import them into the Series 5 software. Once they are imported, you can modify buttons just like you would normally do. You may find that some of the boards do not function properly though, especially if they would have movable buttons. Below are the instructions for importing boards into the Series 5 software. I hope this helps. Thanks and have a great day!

    1.
Select the Main Menu button in the title bar.
    2.
    Select Setup.
    3.
    Select Tools.
    4.
    Select Page Browser.
    5.
In the left viewport, choose the folder that you would like to save the imported boards to so it is highlighted.
    6.
    Select Sharing Operations.
    7.
Select Import from BM Plus or SDPro Boards.
    8.
    Select Select Boards to Convert.
    9.
Select the SD Pro or BM+ boards you want to import.
    10.
    Select Open.
    11.
    Select Next.
    12.
If you want to add any boards that are linked to the boards you have already selected, choose Add Associated Boards. Otherwise, jump to step 13.
    13.
    Select Next.
    14.
    Select Convert Boards.
    15.
    Select Finish.
    16.
Select OK at the 'Package successfully loaded' message.
    17.
Select OK to exit all open menus.
