How to download to Studio.

I am new to boardmaker share. I have studio. When I find an activity to download and click "download activity" a box pops up that asks me if I want to open with (Browse) or save file. I am not sure what to do to get these activities into Studio. I see where you have told others how to import activities into studio, but I am not sure of the steps to take before I reach that point. I am using the firefox browser. Thanks for your help.

  • Hi Julia,

When you download an activity, try saving it. You will need to know where is saves to. You are most likely downloading Boardmaker Classic Software boards. These have file extensions: bm2, zip, zbp. If this is the case, you will need to import the boards into BM Studio. Here are the steps:

You can import boards (.bm2), board packages (.zbp), and .zip files that were created in other versions of Boardmaker and save them as new Projects to use or edit in Boardmaker Studio.

Note: You can import all print boards and most interactive boards. Some advanced boards and templates from other versions of Boardmaker cannot be imported into Studio.

    To import, follow these steps:

    1. Select File Menu > New > Project From Boardmaker Import. The My Boards folder will open.
    2. Select the .bm2, .zbp or .zip files you want to import as a Boardmaker Studio project.
    3.
    * Note: Ctrl + click will allow you to select multiple individual files.
    4. Select Open. The Boardmaker Import Setup dialog will open.
    5. Enter a title for the project in the New Project Name text box.
    6.
    * Note: You can return to the My Boards folder to reselect boards by selecting the Reselect Boards button on the Import Setup dialog.
    7. Select Import. A Conversion Warning dialog will open stating that the files have been successfully converted and listing any inconsistencies in the conversion process.
    8. Select OK on the Conversion Warning dialog. The new project will be saved in the Boardmaker Studio Project file and will open in the Designer workspace.
