re: scanning sequence

When scanning buttons is there a way to set the scanning to start at the last button the student clicks on, rather than having it automatically start at the 1st button again when the scanning restarts?

  • Hello,

Yes, this is possible. Go to "Dynamic Boards". Then go to "Access Method". Select "Scanning Options". You can then mark the option for "Restart Scanning on Same Button". This will then restart the scan on the last button that was selected. Thanks and have a great day!

  • Hi Darren,

Thanks for getting back. I followed your directions with several BoardMaker Plus activities, but it didn't work. Every time I chose a button by clicking, the scanning re-starts on the 1st button in the sequence, rather than picking up with the button that comes immediately after the button I clicked on. So if you're working with an interactive board which has a large number of buttons in it, such as "Find the Blue Button" in the "Shuffle Buttons Template folder," it always goes back to the 1st button in the sequence rather than starting to scan from the point you last clicked.. Thus the students end up having to wait for it to scan through all of the beginning buttons over again in order to get to the next blue button.

What would be ideal, is if it could be programmed pick up on the next button in the sequence rather than automatically always starting with the 1st button in the sequence. Is there a way to do that?
