Windows does not recognise the File Type

I've just jointed the site and when I attempt to download my first resource sheet, Windows tells me it doesn't recognise the File Type. Can you help me?

  • Hi Ruth,

What Boardmaker Program are you using? Boardmaker Plus, Boardmaker SDPro, or Boardmaker Studio? Please let me know. Thanks and have a great day!

    Susan,

You will need to import the package. Download and save the file from Boardmaker Share to a location on your computer where you can easily find it. Rob, do the same thing, but you will be importing as a project. Susan, the first set of steps are for you. Rob, the second set of steps are for you.

To import a Board package, follow these steps:

    1. Open Boardmaker on your computer.
    2. From the Boardmaker File menu, select Import.
    3. Select the Board Package option. The Select Board Package dialog will open.
    4. Browse on your computer and select the board package (.zip or .zbp file) you want to access. Click the Open button on the Select Board Package dialog. The Browse for Folder dialog will open.
    5. Select the location where the board package will be saved (the default location is the My Boards folder on your computer).
    6. Click OK when finished.

The .zip or .zbp files will automatically extract into a new folder in the location you have specified. The board package can now be opened by clicking Open in the File menu or clicking Open a Saved Board or Add-on on the Open Options screen.

    To import, follow these steps:

    1. Select File Menu > New > Project From Boardmaker Import. The My Boards folder will open.
    2. Select the .bm2, .zbp or .zip files you want to import as a Boardmaker Studio project.
    3.
    * Note: Ctrl + click will allow you to select multiple individual files.
    4. Select Open. The Boardmaker Import Setup dialog will open.
    5. Enter a title for the project in the New Project Name text box.
    6.
    * Note: You can return to the My Boards folder to reselect boards by selecting the Reselect Boards button on the Import Setup dialog.
    7. Select Import. A Conversion Warning dialog will open stating that the files have been successfully converted and listing any inconsistencies in the conversion process.
    8. Select OK on the Conversion Warning dialog. The new project will be saved in the Boardmaker Studio Project file and will open in the Designer workspace.

  • I’m thankful
Thank you... I knew there was something I was forgetting to do but didn't find the answer and my cheat sheets are at another location.
