Automatic guide line doesn't snap to the center of the text

When you use the automatic guide lines, should text snap to the center? Or both, the center and the edges?

For example the defualt behaviour is to snap to the left hand side of the text. But I feel it would be useful to snap text to the center and also the right hand side regardless of what alignment the text itself has.

It currently only snaps to the left hand side:

I think it could also snap to the center:

Hi Sevenupcan,

The parameter that gets aligned in this case is the text box.

Text box behaves like this:

1. You create a text layer, type your text. - in this scenario the text box will be exactly the same width as the text inside it, so you'll be able to perfectly align it.
2. if you edit the text box and extend it manually, it will no longer automatically adjust itself to be exactly the same width as the text.

Does that help?

Hi Emanuel,

Thanks for your reply.

With regards to you're first point when I create a text layer and type my text, the width of the text box only expands automatically to about 14 characters and then will wrap onto a second line. It would be useful to switch back and forth between fixed text boxes and collapsing text boxes (automatically adjusts itself to the width of the text).

With regards to aligning a text layer; rather than limit the alignment to the edge left hand side of the text layer would it be useful to allow the guideline to suggest where the center is also?
