Boxee should support Amazon Video On Demand

Is there any way Boxee could support Amazon's Video On Demand? Since Amazon let's users stream the content it should be theoretically possible. I would greatly appreciate it.

Having Netflix and Amazon VOD implemented into the Movies section would be nice. But I think there needs to be a separation. I don't want every crappy Netflix movie clog up my movie section. Maybe something like how it's done with TV shows, where you can "add to movies" or something? Having the netflix instant queue show up in 'Movies' would be awesome. For Amazon VOD I would like to be able to add to Movies for renting later.

My thought is this would be a separate App - so it would remain separate from your main Movie data.

Amazon just lowered its TV shows to $0.99 to compete with Apple. Please find a way to implement this feature! What ever happened to Boxee Payments?

If you have Netflix the other thing you really need is a 'new release' source like iTunes or Amazon. Since Apple obviously isn't going to open up access to iTunes, Amazon is a must. Otherwise Roku is almost more attractive than the Boxee box and less than half the price.

That's the straw that would break the camel's back. With Amazon VOD support, I'd disconnect my old TiVo (which I keep solely to stream Amazon rentals). And, more importantly, I'd finally unplug cable TV! And I would stop using my PS3 to stream from Netflix. A dream come true!

Yeah, this is sort of a dealbreaker. If I invest in a Box but still have to head to a browser to hit up VOD from Amazon, it defeats the point.

Very important addition. A question for Boxee: Is this held up in your court or in Amazon?

This would be a deal breaker.... I am not currently an Amazon user but if this was enabled on Boxee I would definitely switch 100% of my VoD and rental business on the spot... this should be an easy sell

I have a library of movies on Amazon and had to get a Roku to play them, since Boxee doesn't support this!

Now that Amazon VOD is included in Prime memberships, this is a no brainer!

This is practically required now that you get this for free with Amazon Prime. Please do this, boxee.

I would love an official response to this, and more than that a product roadmap so we can all know what to expect and stop pestering you guys in the dark. I'm still rooting for you guys as the scrappy-devs-who-could, but as your product gets bigger, that approach to product development becomes less tenable. Please give us, your loyal early adopters, the satisfaction of knowledge. The worst thing to do to us is to make us not feel heard. We should be the ones selling your product to all of our friends and family.

I second this wholeheartedly. The amazon app just makes sense now that streaming movies is free for Prime members. And an overall roadmap would be a welcomed response from the devs.

I agree with Lee. I don't think the response from Boxee is giving anyone here satisfaction.

Personally, I'm looking at Apple TV, Roku and Boxee. But Since Amazon just busted loose their library to Prime members, this has become a bigger deal.

Come on Boxee. Don't be afraid to put yourself out there. Commit to it. Deliver it.

I echo what everyone else has said. I love Boxee and plan to buy a box soon. Amazon VOD would seal the deal now that Prime Memberships come with free streaming.

Considering that Prime subscribers only get certain videos for free, it'd be helpful if the app sorted between Prime and non-Prime.
