I have the same symptom. Blender stopped working after pouring Apple Juice into the jug with some of it leaking out of the bottom through the seal.

I have had it over a year so I assume it is out of warranty. What are my options.

Dan,

Please reach out to us at askus@brevilleusa.com making reference to this post. Also, please mention which model blender you have as this will help determine your warranty coverage status.

I have a Breville ikon 600 blender, Model BBL600XL that was purchased for me by my husband 4-5 years ago at Williams Sonoma. It just stopped working and will not turn on, and I have tried multiple plugs. I was in the process of making brazilian cheese bread batter in it when it stopped working (tapioca flour, milk, cheese). I don't know what my options are, as I know it is out of warranty, however I feel like it should not just stop like that.

I totally agree - I have the same issue and bought it at Williams Sonoma also about the same time - out of warranty and no service center even in my state! Seems like an awfully expensive blender to have this happen and to so many people...

Our very nice Breville ikon Hemisphere LCD Blender has been used very VERY infrequently in our home. However, it has always leaked, and the other day when I tried to use it to make an ice cream milkshake , it would not operate.

Following are the details of the LCD display:

•When the power button is pressed it blinks red. (obviously the plug is working)
•When a function button is pressed it lights up and the power button turns to solid red and the stop button blinks red.
•Each of the function buttons light up when pressed and the timer appears to be working.
•When the stop button is pressed the power button blinks red until pressed and then the power light goes out.
•The motor never turns on, smells, makes any noise when any buttons are pressed, and the rotor head on the top can be turned freely by hand.

All instructions for operation in the included manual were read and adhered to during the operation of this blender.

Model Number: BBL600XL
Batch Code: 3CW6

I contacted Breville online about my problem and copied in my entry on this site. They responded promptly and requested detailed information identifying the model and batch number of my Blender. Upon receipt of my response with the required information, they extended my warranty and sent a prepaid shipping label for the return of my product. Within about 10 days I received a new replacement blender. It looks like there has been an overload protector built in to the replacement to protect the motor. I believe the gasket may have been redisigned a bit, and so far testing did not produce any leaks. Although, I am receiving a slight rubber/electrical oder when it runs. Hopeing that is just a temporary "burn-in" occurance. Needless to say, I am particularily pleased with the actions by Breville, and the promptness with which they resolved my problem.

If you have a problem, I recommend you contact them for a resolution...you may be surprised...I was!

I have a blender that I was using to make black bean soup. Just starting the soup and blending beans and broth when it leaked a little out the bottom and now will not work. It lights up but none of the buttons work and I cannot get the blender to work. Extremely frustrated that a blender that costs so much would just stop working. It is only used for soft foods and we have never had any problems before.

I purchased my Breville BBL600XL Ikon 750-Watt 51-Ounce Blender in May of 2008. It has not been used frequently over the last 3 1/2 years but when I was in the process of making smoothies a small amount leaked out the bottom, I smelled an odor and now my blender will not work. I know it will be out of warranty but I expect more out of a machine that costs so much and has been used so little. Please let me know what my options are.
Thank you!

I bought a Breville BBL600XL Ikon 750-Watt 54-Ounce Blender at amazon.com in OCT 2007. It worked well but today, I plugged it in, turned it on and it stopped working. I tried different plugs that work with other appliances but the blender will not work. No light work so it seems it does not have any power.
We also have the Breville k-cup coffee maker. In general we are very pleased with the quality (therefore we are willing to pay the Breville premium price). But I would expect a blender of this price and quality to work longer then 4.5 years.
Based on your website, specifically for this model, it seems there are multiple entries for this model blenders that all of a sudden stopped working. So I know there must be something with this product.
Please advise of my options on how to proceed.
Thank you for your assistance.

My blender worked great one day and would not turn on the next. I bought it Macy's dept. store over a year ago, so it is out of warranty. Is there anything I can do?

I pay the extra money to get "better quality" products that last. Not the case with this blender. My first one started smoking when I was crushing ice and melted the plastic, however Breville was quick to replace it under warranty. My second blender was working great and used it maybe 30 times until one night the motor stopped working in the middle of blending a smoothie. The lights would flash but the timer would not work along with the motor. Not impressed with this product. Went to Wal-mart and picked up a temporary $30 blender... so far its performance is outdoing the $250 Breville.
*Also have 2 year old Breville toaster oven, very pleased with it and no issues.*

My Mom & I both got the Breville blenders. When her first one quit, Williams-Sonoma replaced. When the second one quit, she switched to Vitamix. We rarely used ours, but it died too. When I emailed Breville I received this response:

"Thank you for contacting Breville USA, we are sorry to hear about the concerning issue. Potential repair cost on a product like this may outweigh value due to labor costs. As the product is no longer under warranty we would like to offer a discount towards the purchase of a new Breville product through our consumer service department. Discount amount will depend on the unit's age and other factors."

Uh, no - I've learned my lesson. Will go with Vitamix. Made in the US - 7 year warranty.
