My Breville Keurig is not dispensing water. I am trying to do the vinager cleaning but the water will not come out to run through it. Spent a lot of money to get the best. Very disappointed that it is not working.

Hello Jane,

There are a few things we can try before we deem the unit defective. First of all I would decalcify if you have never done this.

Please follow these instructions in order to decalcify your machine. We recommend using white vinegar as the decalcifying agent. Dilute the vinegar with water using 1 part white vinegar, to 1 part water solution (50/50). We recommend soaking the filter cups over night, as well as brewing and steaming half of a reservoir of solution through both components of the machine. Let it sit for 30 minutes or so as the acidic quality of the vinegar will slowly dissolve any calcification. Then brew and steam a reservoirs worth of water to rinse any residual vinegar from the machine.

Another is to clear the needles in the brew head and the K-Cup holder to assure that water is flowing through and not just getting clogged and going back into the water reservoir. In the needle in the brew head there will be 3 holes on the sides of the needle that need to be cleared with a toothpick, safety pin, or needle. The other needle in the K-Cup Holder basket has only one hole. After clearing these needles run a cycle of just water through the machine to clear the pathways if anything was clogged.

Check to see water is not just sitting in the K-Cup as well, this is usually a sign that the bottom needle is not puncturing the bottom of the K-Cup thoroughly.

Last but not least, you will want to make sure the water reservoir is pushed all the way down. There is a valve at the bottom of the reservoir that will not open if the reservoir is not pushed down far enough, meaning you will not get proper water flow.

Let me know if you are still having problems after trying these methods.

Kenji!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!! You helped me fix my Keurig and I am now enjoying a fresh hot cup of delicious coffee. I owe you one. Turns out it was the 3 holes in the needle that was clogged. We also ran some vinegar through the machine as well. I cannot tell you how happy I am with your advice. I searched the internet and yours was the only helpful advice I found!! Again, Thank you.

Kenji,
I have one of these machines and it works like a dream. I recently went to a friend's house and they have the same machine however has the problem of not delivering water to the steaming mechanism. I've used the decalcifier ( durgol) and vinegar. I've used the needle to clean every part available. I've used the hex/tool to take the steamer nozzle off and soak it. I've checked the bottom and reservoir drawer for steadfastness and contact.

What it SEEMS to be is that the plastic "straw" is not taking water into the mechanism that drives the brewer. THE ONLY THING odd about the machine is that the locking mechanism on the BACK DOOR filler area is not catching 100% perfectly (though does when encouraged with a jiggle).

I'm at a loss for what to try next. Is there a way to check the "sucking" mechanism that takes water from the reservoir? Or is this something that needs to be taken into a repair shop. If so, Can you recommend one in the LOS ANGELES West Hollywood area, please.

Thanks,
Deb

Hello Deb,

If you are having trouble with the machine drawing out water from the reservoir, you will want to just make sure that the water reservoir is pushed down as much as possible to ensure that the valve on the bottom is opened for proper water flow. Would you mind emailing me at kenji.kawano@brevilleusa.com so that I can determine the warranty status of the machine?

I bought my Keurig 2 months ago and it was perfect! The best cup of coffee I've ever made. This morning it would not dispense water into the cup. I read other comments and emptied the reservoir, cleaned the holes where the water comes through and still no water coming into the cup. I'm so disappointed.

Same problem......went to clean it with vinegar and zip.....no draw.....everything has been cleaned. After jiggling the machine a little, I got one cup of vinegar water to come out....after that nothing....this is our second Keurig with the same problem. Moving on to a Tassimo.
