Availability email

We would like to change the first para of the selected email template to say 'Please let us know if you are available for this tournament'.  We then enter the number of teams into the tournament depending on who us available. Can this be done?

Hi Nick, the selection template does allow for some editing but I think reading this that you are perhaps wanting a different template for a tournament?  Is this a correct assumption

Maybe.  We have festivals where we need to check availability before knowing how many teams to enter AND we have matches that players are selected for.  I thought if we could change the wording of the first para from 'You have been selected to play {{event description}} ..' to 'We need to check your availability to play {{event description}}...' it might cover both situations?

If we could change the wording of the first para that would sort out the issue for us. Any club entering multiple teams into friendly tournaments will be in the same boat.

yes certainly the ability to use it as an availability poll would be good before confirming it to be an actual event but the calendar and upcoming fixtures would need to be hidden or appended with something to show it is not yet confirmed a goer.

This would be useful for us. We are a Morris dancing side and that is exactly how we have to work. We are invited to various events and sometimes more than one in the same time period. That wording would allow us to more realistically communicate with the members and an option to show that an event is confirmed once accepted would be good.

Having looked at this thread I think that what clubs want is not so much related to the selection email but a new email around availability - if it is to be automated to update members omissions then it would be a more complex development, if however it is simply an email that is sent and the club manage responses it could be quicker to implement - I can not make a commitment at present for this to be done prior to your new season, I would however be interested  to see whether clubs would prefer it to be fully integrated e.g update omissions and show players as unavailable for the event or for this to be just an option to send an email at point of creating an event?

Personally we would just manage the responses - so a new email around availability would be fine for us.

I don't think what you are suggesting is what we would need. We do need to be able to change selection email text as it doesn't currently reflect our activity in that we don't play matches.
