You can only delete events in the future - to do this in the CMS click on the event you want to delete and you will go to the "edit team event" page. Just click on "delete event" top right - you will be prompted to check you are sure, if so click "Yes, I'm Sure" and the event will be deleted :)

is it possible for SuperUser to be given ability to delete events in the past, as a member who was manually uploading fixtures for this season has used March 2010 instead of March 2011 so the event appears in 'Our latest Results' section as if it was a fixture for last season.

also slight typo for you on /admin/club the 3rd button 'Add Member' should read 'Add Venue' (i think)...

I think that's a great idea Jon - I created something incorrectly a while back, and it still shows up as a cancelled game on my homepage at the moment. It will change as we fulfil other fixtures, but it would be great if I could delete it just so it's cleaner.

We will look into how we can tackle this, the key reason at present why we do not allow events to be deleted is so that we do not lose essential match records etc and this will be key with the gold developments, however we may be able to do something to allow you to flag the event to not be shown in key pages without being deleted, we will work on this

OK good news which will help in this situation, if an event has been created and nothing has been assigned to that event e.g. team selection, match report etc then you will be able to cancel the event - so this should help with basic user error - if you have assigned any details to the event you will not be able to delete it. We will be working on this change shortly and will advise when live on the system

Not being able to delete an event that has match selections (even if I've unchecked every player) is a real pain as it now means that cancelled friendlies will stay on the calendar for ever.

When will you be adding the ability for the super user to delete any event or at least change the logic to say "if there's no players selected" then allow the event to be deleted?

Cheers,

Simon.

Simon, the issue is more to do with the reports and accounting parts of the system, so once selections have been made this information is utilised elsewhere in the system even if you go back and uncheck the history is still archived. You do have the ability to enter a cancelled result against any fixture so that it is obvious that the events were cancelled

Understood - however because the calendar page is a month to view, these events clutter up the calendar - everything is still jammed into one day (Saturday).

There was talk a while ago that you were looking in to different ways to display the calendar...?

Cheers,

Simon.

Saves me asking this question!

I see it's a hot issue already, however if at some point in the future you are able to hide an event from the calander that would be great.

An example as to why..

An event was set up as a tournament, when it would of been better to set the event as a match. However as the event occurs in the past we can't remove the old event :(

We will take this into consideration too :)
