NEW: 2020 for ClubBuzz - our new website theme for ClubBuzz 2

We'll be posting more about ClubBuzz 2 (our new version of ClubBuzz) over the next few days and weeks – but I'm really pleased that the team's been making some really great progress on it.

I'm delighted to show you all a demo version of our new theme. This is still very much a demo, and we're not finished yet - but it does give you a good flavour of our default theme for ClubBuzz 2.

Take a look here, and let me know what you think. Feedback at this stage is really important to us.

Looks good overall. One comment on the team pages is that I'm personally not liking the published by and date at the top of the page. If it needs to be there I'd like at the bottom of the page or optional.

Is clubbuzz2 mandatory to move too or can you start as we are now? Also if we migrate to the new version, I take it we can't go back?

No problem at all.

For example, if your ClubBuzz domain was 'yourclub.clubbuzz.co.uk', we might set up a 'beta.yourclub.clubbuzz.co.uk' so that you can test them both. 

The thing to consider is that making a change on your ClubBuzz 1 site wouldn't update your ClubBuzz 2 site while we were running them both alongside each other. 

The other main thing to consider is the financial side of ClubBuzz 2. The current plan is for the financial system's core to run on Wave accounting (waveapps.com). This would be built directly into ClubBuzz, and would let you be a lot more flexible in terms of charge dates etc.

We're on the silver package so there wouldn't be any impact from the financial side.
We have a custom domain running over the top so they'd be no impact to 'yourclub.co.uk' and this would work as it does now? So then you'd have 'beta.yourclub.clubbuzz.co.uk' as you described above as the beta address.

If you want to keep 'yourclub.co.uk' running on ClubBuzz 1, we can do that. We'll run beta.yourclub.clubbuzz.co.uk and beta.yourclub.co.uk on ClubBuzz 2 while you're trialling it.

Hi Cellan, Clubbuzz 2 looks really nice, mobile responsive too I guess?

What are the plans for the registration back end, will this remain as it is, or do you plan to migrate this too, and therefore will all the data remain intact? After 2 years setting up, my registration secretary would come at me (and possibly you) with a very large stick if this was lost.

Hi Steve - thankfully no sticks needed! The backend‘s look will change, but all of the data will just carry over as before.

My personal opinion is that most people (at least at our club) use the website just for information - it has to be easy to access (eg the no more than 3 clicks rule)
That would be a top priority
If as part of that you can then include better stat reporting, etc , that would be wonderful

Hmm, ok that's odd as the site is definitely in a 'pending' state.

We'll take a look at this over the weekend. Thanks for bearing with us, obviously good to get these bugs ironed out now! (but activation is a new one for this)

Hi Valerie,

We've narrowed down the issue, so we're sorting now. In short, we've created all of the other testing sites by making a manual entry into the database. As we're also testing the automated site creation (like on www.clubbuzz.co.uk/signup), we've found an issue in the automated notifications. 
We're sorting that now and we should have that done soon :)
