Please register field - email field not mandatory causing issues

When a player is accepted as a member and is then invited to register, the email field is not mandatory. However, if the potential member does not fill it in then they get an error saying the email address does not match the email address on record. The password fields are also wiped, along with the security question hint field so the member then has to re-fill out the password fields and the email field. It's not clear that the security question hint field has been wiped either so it's easy to miss.

Please could this be fixed? In summary the email field on the "please register" form needs to be mandatory and then it should avoid all the problems described above

Can you confirm is this from a member who was added first as an applicant to the system and then accepted as a member?

Yes that's correct, applicant then accepted as a member (tried it twice with different emails).

Adding a member directly to clubbuzz appears to be fine - the email is automatically sent.

Had you put the registered email address in the box before you got this message or did you leave it blank?

I left it blank as it's not got an asterisk to show that it's mandatory.

But even if it did, if you leave it blank and try and submit the form then the error should be something along the lines of "please fill in your email address". But instead it says it doesn't match the email address on record. So it seems like the email address field is not actually mandatory.
