RSS Feeds to Facebook/Twitter

RSS to Facebook page or Twitter.

Hello

We used to use RSS Graffiti to auto feed facebook pages of all news, and team match reports.
RSS Graffiti has now closed and i'm struggling to find a RSS feed program to do the same.

My issue is, if we update a match record from a previous loaded fixture. (eg all fixtures are loaded at the start of the season) the RSS feed program would not see this as a new feed and therefore no post to Facebook. whereas RSS Graffiti would.

If we create a new news post. then it will post that feed as it is created there and then.

I've tried IFFT, PostRSS Zapier plus others and not yet found one that works?

Anyone have any advise?

Many Thanks

Hi Sarah, would clubbuz be interested in creating some sort of RSS feed to FB, twitter etc based on News story, match record etc. It generated lots of clicks onto the website from our social media platforms, really missing this now.
Thanks

Next release will see a communications upgrade - we will then turn our minds to new requests taking all the feedback on here into account

this is something that should be as standard by now - especially as clubs are prompted for their social profiles within the website settings.

New user here and would just like to echo the demand for this.  I use both club buzz and another website provider for different teams that I am involved with.  The other website provider does integrate the newsfeed and match reports with Facebook and it's incredibly useful as we aren't having to try and keep two different places updated.  The club buzz site 'look and feel' is much better, but I was a bit disappointed that it didn't have this functionality that I am used to.

Yep, same here. I am trialling clubbuzz and another website provider as well and would echo that the look and feel of clubbuzz is nicer, but the integration with Facebook and Twitter will swing it for us as the feedback so far is that if we want the details updated by coaches and captains it needs to be only done once.

Is there any update on how far off this might be?

We can't commit to a timeline for this at present - understand your need to get the balance right for your own club, we have a number of other enhancements that will be completed before we look at this

Oliver we have been working on updating the financials to allow clubs to better manage year end, we are now reviewing all the new data protection guidelines with a view to getting everything in place in time for the new regulations next year, this will include some changes to how data is handled, more information will be sent to all clubs shortly

we have used club buzz as our site cms provider for at least 4 years and the site does what we need it do. with that being said - it could do so much more - automating things like match results and news reports via RSS to social media being one of them.

Myself and one other person do all the web updates and then have to do the same on social media as well as numerous other roles we perform - by having this function it can reduce the time spent on this by at least 2 hours a week (based on the number of matches we have); extrapolate that over the course of a year and that is over 4 days saved which can be used to perform these other roles within our club more effectively.

by looking through some of the threads it is clear that this is something that has been asked for time and again - yet still hasn't been delivered.

It would also be useful if we (your clients) received more regular communication on updates etc. When we were choosing which platform to go with - we looked at Pitchero too - and I still receive email updates at least monthly with new features launching or changes coming. We don't seem to get that with Club buzz which is a real shame...

All we want to know is that our thoughts are being taken on board, considered and those that are taken forward are communicated correctly to your clients, and are implemented in a timely manner.

is that really too much to ask?

We will be sending out a communication shortly and are sorry that you feel client comments are not being taken on board.  We do endeavour to answer all feedback on here and do periodically send out updates, please do check that your admin details are up to date on the site as we send to the nominated club administrator.

We have to balance the demands of the customers carefully and this means that not all requests can be met. We try to balance the needs of the majority of our clients and recently have done varied enhancements such as new text editor functionality, the ability to set up archived member groups, enhancements to year end functionality on the financial package, age ranges for teams being more in alignment with school years, ethnicity data collection required by some National Governing Bodies, the list goes on..  We are currently working hard to ensure ClubBuzz offers the best solution in light of the new data protection laws coming in next year to help you to meet the new regulations.

Fully appreciate that this is an enhancement that would be good for some, we do have to concentrate on the data protection issue as a matter of priority that's why I am unable to put a date on this for us to address

Thanks for your feedback

As a user of a club buzz site and also an administrator of a wordpress site, keeping up with the fast moving digital world is essential. This is the first time I have really read through the forum and this is the first thread. I have to say the request was over two years ago, and still no upgrade or timeline for implementation?? This is not good

Sorry you feel that way, we are responding to urgent needs for upgrades to the system in preparation for GDPR and that will take precedent over all other enhancements at present.  We have alluded to that above but will continue to keep this in mind for after that work is complete

Yes, I noticed the comments re GDPR and totally agree that with the imminent deadline, that must be a priority. My remark was just that a request for a Social media push service, which every club would grateful of was requested 2 yrs prior, but there has been no reassuring timescales of when. This also seems to be the trend on most of the other posts I have read. Please do not get me wrong, I like the usability of the clubbuzz sites, but if they cannot keep up with everyday tech that other suppliers are offering, there will only be one course of action. Maybe if you could share with your site owners what you have in plan and when you realistically think you will have the capacity to look into the request, it will help us, the customer, answer the questions we are being asked

We would be really keen on this feature to, just saves to much time but also means that we spend more time doing admin via our own website and less time wasted on other platforms

Another season begins for us this weekend and still no publish to social feature on the website. This along with a membership status issue which has affected our junior section is prompting the Sparsholt Cricket Club committee and I to review our website and provider once the season ends.

Pitchero - an alternative provider are constantly tweaking their platform and are communicating with their users on a monthly basis if not more often. I still receive their mailings today after trialling their site alongside Clubbuzz. They have the push to social feature.

The largest issue for me is the sheer lack of communication in terms of updates etc. This feed for example hasnt had a post from an admin for over a year. if you cant provide the functionality - tell us. at least we will know.

Apologies for the lack of response re the rss feeds (note we sent an email regarding member registrations issue).

Also apologies for lack of updates on the work planned, we will be working over next couple of weeks on the rss feeds for both news items and match reports and hope to have something for beta testing before month end
