Setting 'Pay Subs Monthly' as the default

We set ourselves up at the start of this year on the Gold package and using GoCardless to collect fees.

Everything works as it should and the whole clubbuzz set up is already paying dividends for us in terms of making club admin more efficient.

However we  have discovered one small issue. We are a swimming club and our annual fees are quite high as they cover pool entry, training etc so we allow all members to pay monthly. At the moment this requires the parent to set up their account correctly by ticking the 'pay subs monthly' option.

Sadly we underestimated the ineptitude of most parents! and despite providing step by step instructions and sending out several emails asking people to check and explaining the consequences nearly half failed to ensure they opted in for monthly payments. So I now have to manually post credits followed by the correct dated monthly instalments to nearly 80 member accounts to correct the problem.

Is it a quick fix for you to enable us to either;

a) - set the 'pay subs monthly' flag to be set as YES by default (and for this to be applied to all existing accounts) or
b) - allow this field to be one that an administrator can set in a members account record and/or via a mass assign option

Brian we are making some changes to Gold this year and will take your idea and include this in the upgrade not sure yet which option we will go for or potentially both

Hi Sarah,

Not urgent, just after an update on when you think the changes discussed above might go live.

We're still having to post manual corrections as new members join through the year, if they don't set up the pay monthly option within the 7 days from registering then the system just posts a single (pro-rated) charge for the year.

New members will now automatically default to pay monthly, current members will need to select this option for themselves, we continue to look at an admin allocation

The default as pay monthly isn't good for us. Is there any way we can choose our own default? If not, can this be considered as a feature?

ClubBuzz doesn't seem to default members to Pay Monthly. I am having exactly the same issue where our fees are quite high and most people want to pay monthly, but didn't select this in time.

Can you clarify what the default is?

And is it possible for a club admin to set whether the default should be in full or pay monthly?
