Piece of Shit Comcast!!
-Ever since the "switch" to analog, which i have a digital 300 preferred or whatever bullshit package with HD, DVR, Internet and so on. Ever since the switch which shouldnt have affected me, my cable cuts in and out and my guide is unavailable all the time. The asshole comcast people when I call, try to hit me with their known scam of "service protection plan" because we are supposed to make sure we pay for their shit not working. Im so done with you assholes, and you should be in prison. I will be switching to UVERSE very soon unless something is done asap. I have had nothing but problems and believe me that you will be losing a lot of business with me telling and talking to everyone I know about this.

comcast sucks donkey balls!!! pieces of shit idiots! last year i couldnt afford cable anymore so i asked them to please disconnect my cable and they came out and disconnected my cable and assumed that my roommate's account was the same so they disconnected everything including internet. those were 2 separate accounts. i dont have a phone so the only way for me to get voice mails was online with my google voice number and i missed a very important call because they were so stupid they just assumed that both accounts needed to be disconnected. i called them to talk to them and they kept putting me off and saying it wasnt their problem. i tried several times to try and talk with them because i had an outstanding balance and wanted them to write it off for the trouble i went through because of their stupidity and they finally said "ok", but i just found out they sent me to collections. what happened to doing the right thing?

I loathe fucking comcast and hope IT burns in the fiery bowels of an agonizing hell littered with the same idotic customer service assholes from their own company that i had to subject myself listening to. Fuck you directly, president of comcast & by the way, my super fast internet stills sucks!!!!!!! Huge FUCKING thick hairy balls. And yeah, I did call numerous departments AND a tech came out. 0.06 upload and 1.52 download and I have the newest thing!!! Xfinity1! Woooo!!! You still are the worst company ever.

it's been some years for you since the switch, how's the AT&T Uverse working out and what general region are you in if you don't mind saying.

Had AT&T in the past with a variety of service and billing problems.

We had AT&T for almost six years in CT, just before or as they were introducing their Uverse concepts. Experience left me w/ quite mixed feelings: There were one or more billing or service issues every month for the first 28 months straight, I remember, often it was more than one issue.

The first month that I didn't have to call about something or other was a relief, but it didn't last. Problems continued, remained minor** - but dealing w/ ATT remained unnecessarily time consuming. I remember constantly coming away with the feelings:

a.) I've dealt w/ this same issue w/ them before, often several times, and

b.) this issue could have been, and was in the end, handled in 5-10 minutes by one person, so why do I have 3 to 5 reps names in my notes and 45 min. to over an hour for every single contact to them? And often had multiple calls and call-backs from supervisors needed, making the issues last over several days!!!

I felt like our bill (ie: yours now, and all AT&T customers' bills) represented the cost of doing business w/ a staff of several incompetents to every one person who could actually fix a problem! And it always wound up a simple issue to the person who fixed it and that person was at the exact same level as the several others who I'd spoken to who couldn't!!

As customers I felt sure we were all paying salary, work station, building , maintenance and all the related costs for a lot of staff that didn't do anything, I felt this was criminal.

** (mostly the answering service not indicating calls and missing important contacts, or, remaining for weeks with the message waiting light indicating missed calls after they'd all been cleared - this made it impossible to even check the mail and not know whether that blinking light was a new call, every time I returned home I'd feel the need to dial the service to check).

Finally when the internet went intermittent and the solution wound up being a simple replacement of the modem, but only after 3 separate 90 min. visits (I'm not kidding) all out of my business day, over about a month and involving unnecessary things like rewiring of wires that had worked and were installed new to the office on move-in, a variety of unnecessary interface changes on the outside of the house and other nonsense, - actually one visit they did detect one piece of defective phone equipment in a 15-phone home (it was 5500 sf 6-br home w/ office, studio, etc. ) that turned out to be an actual AT&T set that was in one of the bedrooms, great, the only thing wrong inside was their brand of equipment.

Within a year we changed to cox, everything worked, and our 5.10 mbps max., download from AT&T was now 18 - 25 mbps w/ cox.

One thing that did work well while w/ AT&T back in 06-'11 was the Dish TV network, plus they seemed nice, helpful and expedient whenever we had questions. Never had an AT&T TV service .

Sorry for the long explanation, but that's why I'd hesitate to go w/ AT&T even after all the outages and 8 service visits after countless calls to tech support in the first 2-yrs w/ Comcast.

There were many more types of problems w/ AT&T than the annoying answering service that didn't work but I don't want to bore readers.
For those that stuck thru to this point:

Billing was deplorable, always a little something, or not so little something and when we finally canceled service after the six yrs, there were 12 days in the billing period but the bill was 125/ 157 typical. I had to get the Ct state's attorney general's office of consumer affairs to negotiate the corrupted bill. The only non-prorata item was a 5.77$ FCC monthly charge. In the end, true to for, the final AT&T rep who corrected it apologized and said essentially: "this should never have happened",

...I lost hrs that should have been spent readying the house for sale. I still feel they owe us damages for the fraud charge as I was flying back and forth to deal w/ the CT situation, I should not have stopped to corect a 125 bill to the 60 something it wound up being but I was upset about all the issues w/ them

Comcast is a totally fucked up piece of shit. I hardly watch tv, but where I live you can't get antenna reception except for Q13 and KBTC28, so I subscribed to limited cable. I was pleasantly surprised to see Universal Sports was on the limited package, however once I got hooked up I found I could not receive Universal Sports unless I pay a 8 dollar per month ransom fee to Comcast for their pile of shit converter. I don't want to pay a fuckin monthly fee for something I should be able to purchase outright. Fuck Comcast, and they should be in prison for life.

Comcast fucking sucks.

They shut off my service because they claim they didn't receive my check in the mail. Now I have to wait 5 days for them to get the NEW check I sent them because they refuse to turn my service back on.

Or... I can pay over the phone - WITH A FUCKING $5 SERVICE FEE

Fuck you Comcast. You don't give a shit about your customers.

I fucking hate Comcast too! Once they started CHARGING me to pay my bill over the phone with a PERSON, I cut off all ties with them. Not to mention they they're the network provider for almost all Chicago Bulls games so I can't even watch my favorite team play on TV. Fuck Comcast, I hope someone goes Tyler Durden on their greedy little asses.

I am now currently switching my home and business over out of comcast due to how much they fucking suck. 40 dollar fee to replace a box that wasn't working. Then they brought me out another box that did not work properly so they think they are going to charge another 40 dollars to come out and replace a piece of shit box they already fucked me over on. In the end get better customer service. Terrible fucking company. FUCK OFF!

I am TRYING to start an account with them and it is IMPOSSIBLE. One rep tells you something, which is the "authorized dealer" then they pass you on to the real comcast people and EVERYTHING you have been discussing is DIFFERENT! My service has not even started and I am desperate of what bullshit I am getting into...Plus I have Comcast installation an dthey want to charge me for it...the "technician" has to come what for!? ....hook a cable to an outlet....this is a rip off...!

ohhh man do i have a hell of a lot to say about fucking comcast. I live in a apartment and unfortunately they dont allow a dish. So my only option was fucking comcast apparently thats all they allow, anywho so i got it as well as the internet. Starting of with the channels...THEY SUCK ASS, second This shit crashes on me daily multiple times, the dvr is extremely unresponsive in that fast forwarding and rewinding never stop when you want to. It will often just continue until you are an hour later in the program then all your buffered buttons (typically millions of button presses done in anger) will happen at once. Then comes the fucking internet, it literally comes and goes. i could be on the internet and randomly it'll shut down then come back and soo on. Ive tried a million and 20 times to call and be as polite and nice as possible but FUCK that. My favorite is one of there commercials that promises you that if something goes wrong they'll be right over within the next 30 minutes and if not then they'll give you a bonus of 20 dollars. In that case i would literally have 200 dollars in bonus. When i call them to come "fix the problem" they tell me they dont have any "technicians" available? who the fuck says that. its like pulilng up to BURGER KINGS drive thru and ordering a BURGER and they tell you that they have no burgers available LMFAO. Then if they do by a divine miracle get a "technician" to come "fix the problem" they tell you he'll be there NEXT week. HA! and then he doesnt show. ohhh and check this out. if your cable is out, and you call them to come and they come and your cable miraculously fixes you have to pay them. ANY FUCKING ways, i agree with eric 300% and everyone else. I deff agree and i WILL tell everyone of this. COMCAST SUCKS BALLS. everything about it. whether it be cable, internet, or phone.

Comcast is a monopoly piece of shit and I'm going to give you the facts behind this disgrace of a company. Lets start with what I consider to be the worst customer service I have ever experienced in any industry. There corporate infrastructure is deplorable. I know this because I've hired three hard working X-Comcast CSRs. They were paid $10-$12, micro managed, worked to the bone with little incentives all while the big cats up top perform little to no duties and collect massive checks. Lets be honest, if the CSR is making $12 an hour and I'm paying over $1,200 a year then something is wrong. This company doesn't value it's customer.... it has no incentive too. They do have the fastest internet connections, and in Vermont, where I live, a virtual monopoly on cable. If you live in a condo and can't put a dish on your roof then you have no choice if you enjoy TV but to go with Comcast. I have friends with Direct TV, they pay far less and are treated like a VALUE to that company.
I've been working to get a credit on my account because Comcast charged me over $200 for a hockey package I never ordered (I'm the primary on the account). I have called, and recorded all 5 times, I have has online chats (which I have copy pasted to a word document) and I still have no resolution. I've have been treated in a rude manner given no help and I'm tired of being patient and quite. My name is Randy and I'm tired of this company, it's terrible service and rude attitude. If I can prevent one person from spending there hard earned money on this company then I'm relieved. I have all the evidence and will be submitting a youtube video including a copy of my chat and audio of my calls, you can all listen first hand to this terrible service and see that becoming a customer of Comcast is a mistake.
Those people that left positive comments on this site are likely Comcast employees, it's a common trait with in the industry. Please don't be fooled, this company is a joke and doesn't deserve the business of the hard working class american who deserves to be treated well and with respect, especially when paying the outrages rates comcast has.
Don't let the Robert family (billionairs) keep the ball rolling, they are looking to monopolize TV further, allowing them to pay less cause to cost/service. Below is an excerpt from a statement made by Comcast CEO Brian L. Roberts :

Under our agreement, Comcast will become majority owner of NBC Universal. We’ll create a new venture that combines NBCU’s broadcast TV, cable programming, movie studio, and theme park businesses with Comcast’s limited video programming channels. Comcast will hold 51 percent of the venture and will manage it, while 49 percent will remain with GE.

i am a former contractor for them,and you are so dead on..fuck you comcast.They will trouble shoot you until you are blue in the fucking face.fuck that you morons.I pay you, get a goddam tech out here asap.I do business class and residential installs and tell EVERY customer to beware of this.You pay for a service,get the fucking service you want without having to fix their problems.I.E not my/your job.Comcast sucks and treats employees and customers like trash.If anyone has a response to this from comcast...eat shit

Comcast and its associated hardware are giant bags of shit. About half the time, I'm not sure whether the malfunction is Comcast's fault or Scientific Atlanta's, but I figure since Comcast chooses to use SA DVR boxes, it's all one in the same problem. Among the many reasons why I can't stand this "service":

1) On-Demand does not work when you demand it. In fact, for my household, it works roughly 50% of the time. The other half of the time, I receive one of several errors which instruct me to call customer "service" (no thanks). Tonight, I started receiving a new error code: CM-20. This code flashes up instead of starting my movie, and then the entire system powers down. Strangely, this code is only referenced once on the entire internet. I still don't know what it stems from, but it probably means that the box I have now (a replacement for another piece of shit box that they installed) is a defective piece of shit and will need replacing.

2) Pushing buttons on the remote doesn't result in timely responses. Shows fast-forward and rewind usually only after a 5 or 6 second delay. Same for guide navigation. Sometimes you can't be sure if a button-press registered because nothing happens, so you press it again a couple more times - then it responds to all button presses at once. Goddamn aggravating.

3) Searching for a program is so completely nonintuitive that it's basically unusable. Instead of providing a function in which you can type in the program name, you must navigate through a cumbersome and horribly-conceived category tree, then to the first letter of the program name, then manually scroll through a list of all other programs that begin with that letter on that same day. If your program is in the middle somewhere, you must scroll through hundreds of other programs before you get to yours. If it's not on this particular day, you have to look under a different day using this same laborious process.

4) DVR sometimes doesn't record what you tell it to record. This happens about 1 out of every 5 times I try to record something. And it happens even though I can clearly see that the program I've instructed the DVR to record is now highlighted in red (supposedly indicating that the DVR understands that I've told it to record something for that time slot).

5) There is no way (that I've found, anyway) to automatically extend a recording to the actual end of a program. In other words, unlike Dish or DirectTV's DVR, there doesn't appear to be a "record entire show/program" function. You must manually program the recording time and unless you tell it ahead of time to add on an extra 5 or 10 minutes, your programs will all invariably be truncated.

6) Menus and guides are ugly bags of shit. They seriously look like something that was designed in the late 80s for use on the Tandy 1000 EX.

These are all problems that I've seen voiced in one form or another over the past couple of years, so it's obvious that Comcast doesn't give a fuck about providing a quality product anymore. Most of these would be fairly easy to fix, if they cared. They've become overfed and bloated, and have consequently ceased all efforts to take care of their customers. I'm really considering going over to U-verse, but I've heard their internet service is absolute ass. Comcast is making a strong case for switching to AT&T, though.

COMCAST charged me an activation fee of $100 because i didnt want to give them my social security number, charges you for the week before your boxes arrive, then bills for a month of service you haven't even recieved yet and bills for the month of service that you have recieved all in the same bill. The service was supposed to be $120 a month for 6 months and with all this B.S. added in i will have to pay $370.78! i HATE comcast and the lies the spew, bring on FIOS!!!

Do what I did, quit cable all together. The programming is shit anyway. Networks try to reach the lowest common denominator and underestimate the intelligence of the average american. (Or perhaps I overestimate the intelligence of the average american)

oh-and it NEVER fucking works! the phone doesn't get a dial tone...the on demand is NEVER working passed 2am, the tv goes in and out.....and no matter what I say or what they promise.....they charge me $200 a flipping month. Bill Gates just bought in for a Billion and there is no getting away from them, now. I get bills from them saying I am PAST DUE, DELINQUENT FOR THE AMOUNT OF 0.00. IF I DON'T PAY 0.00 BY_____ MY ACCOUNT WILL BE SHUT OFF. .

Eric thank you for being authentic - I hate comcast as well, they charged me fees over the last 3 months and they were not sending me the bills, so I had no idea when anythings due. I think for the company that provides internet services the really sick for providing basic online customer support, like sending the bill notification to your email. Fuck it!

they tried to charge me 28 bucks and change when they sent a tech out that reported the problem was my router when the bold face lying shithead told me to my face that it was a splitr/filter in the box that was the problem. When the tech got here I purposely had only one computer pluged intot he modem and the little lying piece of shit wrote it up as a bad router and tha he had to consult me about the router. WTF? But get this. both reps I talked to at the local office told me they could erase the charges if I would sign up for thier line insurance for 2.99 a month. I told them they could stick thier con jobwhere the sun dont shine and if my internet gets shut off I will be sueing them for extortion
