Hello,
Is running background scripts in Internet Explorer still one of the upcoming features as indicated in an earlier post? (https://getsatisfaction.com/crossride...)
How soon might this be available?
Thanks,
Michael

Hey Michael,
IE Background code will be released in the upcoming weeks. -
-
Is there any news on this feature? It seems like it's still not supported.
Will this feature use any of the new IE functionality (i.e. use webworker support), or will it be compatible with older IE versions as well?
Thanks in advance,

Hey Jo,
Unfortunately you're right and the Background code is still not supported in IE at the moment.
I can tell you that this is the current and most important task we're working on right now.
In fact the feature is implemented and is in it's final testing stages. It's due to be released in a couple of weeks.
We will be sure to keep you (and all of our developers) updated once it's out.
Of course that feel free to keep inquiring about it whenever you want.
Thanks for your patience :)
p.s. The background will be supported in IE7/8/9 (and soon 10) which are all the versions of IE we support. -

Hey Jo,
I'm glad to say that you can now use background in your IE extension.
Feel free to check it out and tell us if you encounter any problems.
Please note that some APIs (like the browser button) are still in development and are currently still not available for IE but we will keep adding them during the next several weeks. -

Hello,
The HTTP Requests demo app which register the onbeforenavigate and onrequest events isn't working for IE 9. Interestingly enough, the Messaging demo is working. Any idea what might be going on? I'm currently evaluating Crossrider to see if it will work for our product, and this functionality is critical. Thanks.

Hey Zach,
These APIs are also supported on IE9 obviously.
If you can please send us to support@crossrider.com more relevant info so we can investigate this further - it would be very helpful.
For example: what is the code you are using, do you see any errors or if you can share any screenshot with us (if you have any). -

Just used the IE background functionality in my plugin and it works, thanks for the quick resolution!
