Firefox 7 Compatability

Firefox 7 is reporting our Crossrider extension as incompatible.

With FF moving to a more Chrome like frequent version release schedule maybe the FF extension shouldn't be version constrained?

    Hey Michael,

    Your apps should already be supporting Firefox 7.0!
    We have updated all of our Crossrider apps to support Version 8.

    Did you get this message when you switched to Firefox 7.0, or when you tried to install it from the server on Firefox 7.0 ?

    Which app ID are you talking about, so I could take a better look on our servers to see if there is an issue with this app specifically.

    Well, that's odd.

    This came up on a testing box last week and I hadn't had time to investigate. But when FF started it said our addon was incompatible with FF 7 and would be disabled.

    I just checked and it was still in a disabled state (see screenshot)



    Forcing a 'Find Updates' did not resolve the issue either. Uninstalling and reinstalling the extension did fix it (See screenshot).



    I'd think that it was maybe just something with my box or the timing of the update except that it was reported by a number of our clients (who we'll get to uninstall and reinstall the extension).

    Thanks Michael for the detailed information.

    Glad to see that installing a new extension does work on Firefox 7.

    I will investigate if there is something out of order in the Firefox updating mechanism, and will keep you posted if I do.

    I have found the issue that prevented from your users to get the updated versions and fixed it.

    Please let me know if your clients can now get your extensions to be compatible seamlessly with FF 7.0 using the Firefox updating mechanism.
