Symantec antivirus detects Crossrider plugin as adware
Symantec anitvirus keeps detecting Crossrider plugin for Internet Explorer as adware for many of our customers. The threat is reported in [plugin name]-helper.exe in the installation directory. I've have asked Symantec to whitelist it, but they say that they cannot do that. How are others handling this issue?

Hello Morten,
As you probably know, there are many false-positive detection in the download industry and we are doing our best to address this.
Do you see this detection during the installation process or after a computer scan ?
Also, can you please let me know your extension ID and we will take a look on our end as well. -

Hi Shmueli
Thanks for the fast reply.
Our customers are usually not seeing the problem when installing the plugin, it is happening at random times, so I guess it is when Symantec scans for threats in the background. Our extension ID (production) is 39050 -
