Where to start?

Hi Guys

The product looks great but I have no idea where to start.
I'm an out of shape guy who brought a spin bike and I'm looking to get fit and the videos drew me in.
I've signed up to the monthly subscription, brought the iPad app ride buddy, have the heart rate monitor on order.

I think I have missed out on the winter training 2016?
And
I don't seem to have access to the winter training 2015 for some structured riding.
I do have access to the virtual ride tours.

I haven't got any files and documents in my account on training centre to download the talk test form to put on the clipboard, should there be something in there?

Also even though I have signed up for a non paid version of the ride journal it says Ride Journal:No in the training center my account area. Should I worry about that?

How long is it until a bottom gets used to sitting on the saddle of a spin bike? I did a half hour session two days ago and currently still can't sit on the seat!

Thanks for your help

Stuart

  • 1. Yes you did miss out on Winter Training 2016 - many of the winter training series we charge extra for. Since you are just getting started, I would highly recommend the series "Introduction to Indoor Cycling" as these are also 30 min classes which you should stick to until your "sit bones" get accustomed to the saddle.

    2. I have added the talk test protocol and form to your account

    3. Your "Ride Journal: No" status will remain like that until you pay for a subscription. We only track if you have a paid version or not - as the paid version is the only way to create training plans and upload workouts.

    4. With regards to the saddle - ride 20 min if need be so you can ride at least every other day - not every day, then increase the time per ride, but do not do them back to back untill this is a non issue for you. I also caution against a big fat saddle. It is counter intuitive, but the bigger and fatter, the more contact points for nerve endings to complain. We routinely change the manufacturer saddle in favor of our own which you can be fitted for at most bike shops.

  • Hi Gene
    Thank you for your reply.
I watched the first video in the intro to indoor cycling last night and had a great lesson, very sweaty at the end and I have to say you have a lovely way of teaching and coaching.
I very much look forward to riding along to many more.

One last question regarding the saddle, I took a look in your shop to see what saddle you favour and I couldn't see one... Do you have a link to your saddles?
    Thank you again
    Stu

Glad you found the intro - that should get you going.  We do not sell nor recommend saddles.  It is very "personal" if you know what I mean LOL  Find a local bike shop that has friendly and knowlegeable people and you'll be glad you did :-)
