I'm sorry to hear you're having problems with the app.
To change the display you should be able to 'tap' on the sign and it'll change to the correct display.
Would it be possible for you to take a screenshot of the app (by holding down the home button and pressing the 'lock' button to save the screen to your photos app) and then email it to me at email@example.com? That would help me diagnose the display problem.
