    Hi David,

Thanks for your message, sorry to hear about the skin irritations. I will try to help as best I can.

Can you tell me which products you use (Dazzle and any non-Dazzle products). Something that we have found some people have sensitivities to are sulfates. I'd need to know which products you use to determine if this might be a contributing factor.

It will also help to know which products you used prior to Dazzle products. Brand name at least, but if you know the individual product, we can cross-reference to see what is being done differently know.

I don't know much about the moss system other than the fact that it does all of the work in the skimmer. It is not a chemical replacement system, but does reduce the dependency on some chemicals. Nothing eliminates the need for active sanitizers in the water.

Let me know the details of our current Dazzle inventory and what you used to use and we'll do what we can to get you fixed up.

Thanks again for your message David.

  • Had a new pool installed and running by August of last year. Use the Dazzle line of product (PH+, Alge Killer, and a salt provided by the Dazzle dealer) and my wife had a similar chemical reaction (bad rash over most of her skin depending on the usage time of the pool).

She has eczema and is sensitive to sulfates and high chlorine levels (she never swims in a public pool).

What Dazzle products should we be using or staying away from?

Hi Matt, thanks for your message. If you need to avoid sulphates, do not use Amaze, Amaze Plus or Pro Balance pH-. These products contain sulphates and may contribute to skin irritation.

Sensitivities to high chlorine can be avoided by using Mega Sticks. These are our hardest compressed chlorine. The result is a slower dissolving chlorine product which gives you more control over your chlorine. Also consider installing an automatic chlorinate for even better control of the chlorine fed to the pool.

I hope this helps. Let us know how we can be of further assistance.

  • I'm still new to this, I have an automatic chlorinator I believe and a cartridge filter which I want to clear after the opening process is complete.

The Amaze Plus is what we were using as a weekly treatment last year. so it sounds like you are saying to use the sticks in place of this?

Ultra Cleanse was other product we use. They suggested yesterday we use a Dazzle product called Purifier is that ok?

Don't worry about it at all Matt. You'll get the hang of it. Pure + Simple will make your regular maintenance quite easy.

The Purify sticks are similar to the Mega Stick in that it is another of the hardest compression chlorine sticks that we offer. As part of the Pure + Simple program, You will use less chlorine overall chlorine to maintain the required safe level of chlorine (1-3ppm) in your swimming pool. If you choose to use the Purify sticks, consider using the Pure + Simple Activator as well. This is the 1st step of that system. This is a product you will add in the spring and then just top up mid-summer. What it does is create a soft and silky water. Beyond that, it creates an environment that slows the rate at which algae can grow, and helps to keep the water crystal clear. Should you choose to use only the Purify Chlorine sticks, then I would encourage you to use Ultra Cleanse with them.

Amaze Plus would have been the shock treatment you used previously, Cleanse is the Pure + Simple version, but you will also want to avoid that product as well. There are sulphates in it too. You might consider using one of either Ultra Shock, Energy or Lithium Pro Shock as your shock product. Energy would be my recommendation. None of these contain sulphates. One thing of note, you will need to do your shock treatment in the evening and leave the solar blanket off the pool overnight. These shocks don't function as quickly as Amaze Plus or Cleanse, but will get the job done.

I hope this helps. Let me know if we can help further!

  • Hi Mike! :) My husband been experiencing skin irritation (eczema) for a couple of months now. He notice that avoiding the hot tub helps a lot. I am currently using SpaGuard product for hot tub care. Due to skin irritation frustration, we are looking for a healthier way to maintain sufficient sanitizer and proper water balance. I just learned about the Mineraluxe and it looks like a way to do it! Please give me advise! What is Mega stick? I don't see that product in your Mineraluxe kit. Thanks! B&R

Hello Berthe, thank you for your interest in Mineraluxe. It is not uncommon for people to find that using hot tubs dries their skin. Mineraluxe may be the solution for your husband's dry skin sensitivities.

Mineraluxe starts with the Cube. This little cube does a lot of work. It prevents scale from developing, it stops metals from discolouring, it helps keep the water crystal clear and what most hot tub owners report, it makes the water feel silky smooth. The conditioners in the water are designed to make the water feel soft, but there are also some natural moisturizers as part of the blend. Customers have reported that using Mineraluxe has really helped their sensitive skin. I'm sure you're husband will find it equally effective at preventing the dryness.

Mega Sticks are actually not part of Mineraluxe at all. Mega Sticks are part of our pool care line. They are designed to dissolve slowly, providing a consistent feed of chlorine to the swimming pool.

With Mineraluxe, everything you need for the weekly maintenance is included in the kits. The kits contain Cubes, Oxygen for getting rid of non-filterable wastes and bromine or chlorine tablets. If you use the Cubes and Oxygen as recommended, you should also notice that your chlorine/bromine consumption goes down. This means you will need less chlorine or bromine to maintain the healthy 3-5ppm in your hot tub water.

Please give Mineraluxe a try and let us know what you think!

If there is anything else we can assist with, please let us know.

  • Hi Mike! Thanks alot for your 'fast' reply! I will definitely try Mineraluxe!

You mention all product for weekly maintenance is included in the Mineraluxe kit. After talking to my product supplier, he informed me that I would still need product to raise total alkalinity (Balance Pak 100 from SpaGuard) and product to raise calcium hardness (Blance Pak 300 from Blance Pak 100) with Mineraluxe? Do I? Also, do I need other products from Mineraluxe for long term maintenance?

    Thanks a lot!
    Berthe

    Hi again Berthe!
Yes, the retailer is correct. There is more to maintaining your hot tub than just what comes in the kit.

You will still need to have your water analysed and balance the water (pH, Total Alkalinity, Calcium Hardness) as the retailer recommends. These adjustments are not typically done every week. Some are only performed monthly.

The products in the kit are what you will need to add on a weekly basis.

Lastly, there are two products that you will need to use. Filter Revive to clean the filter. This is done on a monthly basis. The other is Cleanse & Drain, which is used before draining the hot tub.

    I hope this is helpful!

  • Hi Mike!

Does SpaGuards products (Pak 100 & Pak 300) works great with Mineraluxe!? If not, what brand do you recommend to balance the water?

Thanks a lot! We really appreciate!
