Sand/dirt cloud entering pool when switching on pump to filter

after vacuuming pool I switch pump off but when I switch pump back on I find a cloud of dirty water entering pool I have even changed the sand but find that this still happens any advise?

    Hi Ugan, 

    Thanks for your message.  I know that this is a pretty frustrating occurrence, but is not unusual.

    When pools are vacuumed or backwashed, dirt and debris can settle inside the head of the filter.  If you put the filter in the "Rinse" position for 20-30 seconds before filtering, you should be able to avoid this problem in the future.
