"Error: Invalid Serial Number. Please contact forceAmp.com for a valid key.".
"Error: Invalid Serial Number. Please contact forceAmp.com for a valid key." Message is occurring with a linked server to a sandbox that has been upgraded to Summer 15.

Salesforce has changed the url structure for sandboxes with the SUMMER 13 release. This occurs when you are using the My Domain feature of salesforce.
The url change broke the DBAmp license code and that is what causes the error message. Production linked servers are not affected.
SOLUTION: The latest version of DBAmp (V2.16.8) contains a fix for this issue. You can upgrade using the instructions at http://www.forceamp.com/upgrade.htm A SQL instance restart will be required.
If you are unable to upgrade at this time, then email support@forceamp.com and we can issue a 30 temporary serial number that provides a workaround. You must plan to upgrade within the 30 day period. -

Are you connecting to a sandbox org or a production org ?
Is this a trial or have you been running DBAmp for a while ? -

Hi Bill,
I have same problem while configuring Linked Server. Can you please suggest a fix?
DBAMP Version: 2.18.3
Connecting to: Production
Note: On the same Server I have a Linked Server is configured pointing to production and running as expected. I have this problem while configuring second Linked Server with different credentials.
Full Error Message:
Cannot initialize the data source object of OLE DB provider "DBAmp.DBAmp" for linked server "XYZ_DBAMP_ABC".
OLE DB provider "DBAmp.DBAmp" for linked server "XYZ_DBAMP_ABC" returned message "Error: Invalid Serial Number. Please contact forceAmp.com for a valid key.". (Microsoft SQL Server, Error: 7303)
Thanks,

1In this case the customer appears to be missing the additional serial numbers.
They will locate the serial numbers and enter them with the DBAmp Configuration Program. That should restore service.-
I confirm, the solution works...
Thanks again Bill! -

Michael,
We cannot reply directly to "Me-to" clicks. Instead, please open a new problem and include the following:
1. The version of DBAmp you are currently running
2. Whether this linked server was working previously. -

The "me-to" was just to say another dbAmp user encountered the same issue, a way to weigh in. In my case, it was a case of not copying the correct serial number when upgrading dbAmp. The first digit of the S/N was a Zero and I interpreted it as the capital letter - 'O'. The Zero was in a 4 char sequence that contained alphanumeric characters, so I incorrectly did my own interpretation. Anyway, Bill intuited the problem and problem got fixed easily.

DBAmp Version 3.4.8.0
When I look at Serial Numbers, I see Expires Mar 02, 2018 next to it.
But I get the error:
Connection to SalesForce using DBAmp failed.
Error: Invalid Serial Number. Please contact forceAmp.com for a valid key. -

Please send a screenshot of your serial number page to support@forceamp.com
Are you sure you are connecting to the same salesforce you provided on the order? -
