Bulk API issue: Arithmetic overflow error converting int to data type numeric

We're currently trying to migrate about 16 million Account records using the Bulk API, parallel concurrency, and a sort column. In our latest testing attempt we were about to migrate 2.8 million records in 30 minutes, until the job suddenly aborted and provided the below error message.

The message looks like an issue with the sort column, since it is the only int column in the table, but I'm not sure. I also didn't see much of anything about this already being asked. Is there any pathway to fixing something like this?
