Coldfusion DSN Setup

Hello, My client has decided to go with dbamp for their integration solution. As I will be integrating the SF data with a local coldfusion intranet, I will need to setup a DSN in ColdFusion Administrator so my pages can engage with SOQL from within functions. Can you please tell me how to set up the DBAmp Ole DB Provider DSN in the CF administrator? Thank you. kj@urchindesign.com

Solved (by myself)... Assuming your DBAmp Ole DB Provider is already setup on the server with DBAMP login details / password / serial number, on the machine (server), do this: Whatever SQL Server you created the linked server on with the DBAmp Connector is what you'll use to create the new DSN. Visit the CF Administrator and create a SQL Server DSN and call it "Salesforce". Then under "Database" enter the name of an existing database that can be found on the server that contains the linked server (this can be any normal database), then enter the login details with 1433 as the port. Then just call your query on your ColdFusion Template, like this: Select * from OPENQUERY(SALESFORCE,'Select Idfrom Account order by Id') . That's it

  • Have you had any success refreshing sql linked salesforce server from coldfusion? I cant seem to find any info on using Coldfusion to run sf_refresh.
