Data Type Error

I am having a problem getting an object to replicate. Here is the error that I am getting:

09:21:48: Error: Fatal error occurred mapping salesforce object into buffer.
09:21:48: Error: Replication failed.
Source: ForceAmpAPI.FAField.1
Description: Failed to convert server data type to variant type::MS__c

I looked at the MS__c field and it is a formula(percent) field. Any ideas on why this may be happening and how to fix it?

Thanks

  • More than likely, the formula is calculating a value beyond SQL Server's ability to store in the database (like a divide by zero value, etc).

Normally, DBAmp tries to round these values but for some reason it did not in this case.

Can you run the following query and identify the row that contains the object with field name of MS__c :

    select * from SALESFORCE....sys_sffields

Then send me the contents of that row so I can see the definitions.

When you look at some examples of that object on salesforce, do they have
    Nonsensical values ?

  • Hi Bill,

Here is the info that you requested:

Opportunity MS__c percent % MS decimal(18,0) null true false false true false true true false false false false false

I have a feeling though that it is the divide by zero issue that you suggested that it might be as it appears that the field may actually divide by zero and does not handle it gracefully. I will work on getting that fixed, but if you see anything else in the data I provided that could be an issue, please let me know.

  • Hey Bill,

Just to follow up, it was a data issue. I cleaned up the data and now it works wonderfully.

    Thanks for your help!
