Datetime2(7) on SQL Server 2014 treated as nchar(27) on Scribe Insight

Salesforce date fields are created as datetime2(7) on SQL Server 2014. These fields are then treated as nchar(27) fields on Scribe Insight, which causes problems with integrating date fields. SQL Server 2014 does not allow compatibility level with SQL Server 2005 (90). Is there a configuration solution?
