Is there a way to make the DBAmp replicate the date fields as anything other than datatime2?

I have some custom date fields in Salesforce that when replicated by DBAmp on MS SQL Server 2012 they are stored as a datetime2. This is fine until we want to report on the data.

MS Access 2003 and Crystal Reports 2011 both see datetime2 as text fields because they don't know what to do with the format. This means every time I want to use any date field I have to convert the text into a date.

Would it be possible to replicate all date fields as a regular datetime so I wouldn't have to always format the text?
