LastModifiedById Seems to Default to DB_Amp

Hi - we have the audit fields opened up for our Opportunity object however the id written into LastModifiedById seems to use the DB_Amp user no matter what ID I pass it.

I verified that we use the same ID (an ID we use as a catch all) for CreatedById and LastModifiedById; the CreatedById value is what we pass in however the value for the LastModifiedById seems to default to DB_Amp now matter what I do.

Any help/insight would be greatly appreciated

Thanks

  • Are you doing the update with sf_bulkops or a SQL Update ?

  • we use sf_bulkops - the field is there in the bulk load table after I do an sf_generate however seems like it is ignored

  • Can you send me the complete message output of the sf_bulkops run and a scripted CREATE Table statement for the actual table that was passed to the proc ?

  • Hi Bill,

I just want to triple check with our developers that this is not something on our side (trigger etc.) first.

What time zone are you in?

    I am in EST.

    Thanks

  • After a call with the customer, we suspect that the LastModifiedId and date are being updating as a byproduct of normal Insert api processing and therefore overwriting the initial passed in value.

  • Hi Bill - thanks for you help with this and explaining what was going on here. I have a question and I think I know the answer but just want to be 100 percent sure.

Currently I log into our server with my id via windows auth - when I run the db amp bulk procs I am then running them under DB_Amp it seems - I am assuming there is no way to change that - ie tell db_amp to login as another user.

Our team is going to raise a case with SalesForce as well but I just wanted to make sure I definitively rule out any possibility of doing something like that on the DB_Amp side.

    Thanks again Bill!

  • The Security page of the linked server controls how windows creds are mapped to salesforce credentials. Most customers want all DBAmp operations to mapped to a single SF userid but it sounds like you need something different. That is possible but I am not sure exactly what you are trying to do.

Maybe you could send a screenshot of your Security page along with a explanation of how you want the mapping to occur to support at forceamp.com
