Need assistance loading files to the document/folder via dbamp

I'm hoping someone can give me a tip on how to load files to salesforce and make them available in documents.

This is what I've done so far;

Created a load table for the documents table via SF_GENERATE
Changed the data type for the body field from image to Varchar(255)
Populated all the required fields in the documents load table including the path to the file I wanted loaded in the body.
Executed the SF_BULKOPS stored procedure to insert a row in documents table.
The stored procedures reports success and I see the new row in the documents table.
The body field looks like it contains very small Base64 encoded value.
The bodylength field is also very small (9 bytes)

To me it looks like the file is not being found on the DBAMP server and the path I provided is being encoded. Is this possible? Has anyone experienced this before?

Thanks in advance for the help.
