Not able to find UseDefaultAssignment checkbox

Hi,

I am using the trial version of DBAmp and trying to set UseDefaultAssignment option from DBAmp Configuration tool. However,I do not see this option in the Registry Settings of DBAmp Configuration tool.

My DBAmp version: 2.20.7

Please suggest ways to set UseDefaultAssignment option.

Regards,
Poonam

  • We prefer that you do not use the UseDefaultAssignment registry setting because this puts headers on every single operation run using DBAmp. If you choose to use the UseDefaultAssignment registry setting anyways, run RegEdit as a Windows Administrator. Then, navigate to Local_Machine/Software/DBAmp Hive and modify the UseDefaultAssignment Value data to 1. This will turn the UseDefaultAssignment registry setting on.

Alternatively, we prefer that you use the technique described under the "Using Optional SOAP Headers" section in Chapter 4 of the DBAmp documentation. The difference is the SOAP header parameter on the sf_bulkops call is a “one- time” use. The DBAmp Registry settings apply the SOAP header to all operations of DBAmp. Therefore, using the SOAP header parameter allows a finer control over the header usage.

  • Thanks Justin for providing the details.I have checked chapter 4 for using SOAP header parameter however i need to use sf_bulkops insert/upsert operations with bulkapi switch. When i tried using the SOAP header parameter with bulkapi switch, it's giving a message saying that we cannot use SOAP header parameters with bulkapi switch.

Can you please suggest any other ways to trigger assignment manager rules when data is loaded using dbamp with bulkapi switch.

  • Salesforce does not allow regular headers with Bulk API. If you want to use default assignment, you must not use the Bulk API.
