I know the developers are making more achievements in the future, and I know they are very creative. Nevertheless, post your ideas to this thread.

What makes a good achievement?
- All achievements should either be retroactive or ones you can achieve, no matter how much and what you have done in The Last Stand: Dead Zone. No achievement should be a one-time only event (exception: status achievements, such as "Beta tester", "contributor", "paying customer", "preorder" and so on).
- They should be easy to implement. A casual check (boolean expression) or a counter (_x = _x + 1) is much easier to code than more complicated ones.
- They should be possible to achieve during "normal" gameplay. This means that there shouldn't be survivor role specific achievements, because it's possible that player don't have someone (medic or engineer, for example). "Erect all the buildings you have built so far" is not very good one either, even if it is doable. Neither is "scrap 5 purple items". I simply can't see how someone can (or want to) achieve those during "normal" gameplay.
- They should cover full spectrum. Achievement hunting can be fun, and it "forces" you to play little bit differently than you have used to play. Not all achievements have to do something with combat and killing. The idea of an achievement is to have a milestone; something you try to reach. "The best part is not when you reach your destination, it's the journey".

Here is a list of achievements *I* find to be suitable. Some of them are my ideas, some of them are not. I have cited the original author if the idea came from somewhere or from someone. Don't get offended if I haven't included some of your ideas; it just means that in my opinion it does not meet the requirements of a good achievement (read previous paragraph). And because there are so many good ideas suggested in this thread I started to be very picky (and/or lazy)... ;)

Syntax:
- means normal achievement
+ means secret achievement (only the name of the achievement is shown)

Character development related achievements:
- Skillful (Any "role" is 20+) [Idea: TLS:UC]
- Masterful (Any "role" is 30+) [Idea: TLS:UC]
- Versatility (Use level-up points to increase 3 different "roles")
- Jack of all trades (Use level-up points to increase all possible "roles")
+ Forgetful (Forget to level up. Triggers when you have more than one level-up point unused) [Idea: TLS:UC]

Weapon related achievements:
// Note: The point is not to have an achievement for every single weapon out there. Creativity & quality over quantity; few well thought secret achievements beat whole bunch of "kill x infected with y" achievements. "Chef" is an excellent example.
- Without a sound (Kill x infected with a suppressed weapon) [Idea: TLS:UC]
+ Guitar hero (Kill x infected with a guitar) [Idea: Bill Gescheider]
+ Theoretical physicist (Kill x infected with a crowbar, and have an engineer bench)
+ Couch potato (Kill x infected with a hockey stick, and have a couch / TV [Con: hint-hint... ;)])
+ Heavy plumbing (Kill x infected with a pipe)
+ Chef (Kill x infected with a knife, and have a kitchen) [Idea: Berduard]
+ Butcher (Kill x infected with a cleaver, and have a kitchen) [Idea: Wong Yew Weng]
+ Crowd control (Kill x infected with a police baton in security buildings / police station) [Idea: HSAR]
+ Stop, It's... (Get x kills with a Hammer/Improvised or regular Sledge Hammer) idea [Idea: Wong Yew Weng]

Fighting related achievements:
- Army of one (Kill x infected during a mission with only one survivor) [Idea: Wong Yew Weng]
- Rambo (Reload LMG x times during one mission) [Idea: Wong Yew Weng]
- Leading by example (Leader kills x infected) [Idea: Wong Yew Weng]
- Brutally efficient (Kill x infected with one hit) [Idea: Wong Yew Weng]
- Flawless victory (Complete x missions without any injuries) [Idea: Matthew Lackner & Kenn-Ethic]
- If You Want Something Done Right... (Complete x missions with your Leader) [Idea: Wong Yew Weng]
- Down, boy! (kill X number of dogs) [Idea: Bill Gescheider, Naming: Wong Yew Weng]
- Man's Worst Friend (Get bit by dogs x times) [Idea: Bill Gescheider]
- Spray'n'Pray [Shoot x bullet. This could also be tier based achievement] [Idea: David J. Buffington, Naming: Gekkibi]

Injury related achievements:
- Accidents happen (Survivor gets injured during a mission)
- Juggernaut (One survivor takes x damage during a mission without being KOed) [Idea: Wong Yew Weng]
+ Out of service (All survivors are injured at the same time)

Scavenging related achievements:
- Lady Luck (Find x green / blue / purple items) [Idea: TLS:UC]
- Nothingness (Inspect x empty containers)
- Gaia (Recycle 10000 items. I found hippy to be too easy)
- Stockpile (Have 3000/3000/3000 resources)
- Dude, where's my car? (Loot x vehicles) [Idea: Matthew Lackener]
- Midnight Snack (Loot x refrigerators) [Idea: Wong Yew Weng]

Other mission related achievements:
- Pacifist (Run through a mission without killing anyone. Time must expire) [Idea: Bill Gescheider]
- Bare essentials (Complete x missions without using any gear at all) [Idea: Wong Yew Weng]
- Ingenuity (Use only improvised weapons on a mission) [Idea: Wong Yew Weng]
+ You did what? (Leave a mission with all survivors outside the exit zone) [Idea: Codi Pippenger]

Compound defence related achievements:
- Colosseum slave (Tier 1. Successfully defend compound x times) [Idea: Codi Pippenger]
- Colosseum gladiator (Tier 2. Successfully defend compound x times) [Idea: Codi Pippenger]
- Colosseum master (Tier 3. Successfully defend compound x times) [Idea: Codi Pippenger]

- Backyard supermarket (Collect x amount of food from your own gardens) [Idea: Codi Pippenger]
- Keep it clean (Have 3 max level Showers and 3 max level Outhouses) [Idea: Wong Yew Weng]
+ Unparallelled parking (Place your vehicle in a parking spot) [Idea: Codi Pippenger]

Community based achievements:
- Beta tester (Automatic achievement what can't be unlocked after the release. Doesn't give XP. It just reminds us how awesome we are)
- Forum hogger (Registered to the official forum)

Fuel trading post related achievements:
- Thank you (Buy any amount of fuel)
- Big spender (Spend x fuel at fuel trading depot) [Idea: TLS:UC]

Inventory related achievements:
+ Wrong currency (Have x bottle caps in your inventory)
+ Playing with dolls (Have x teddy bears in your inventory)

Map related achievements:
- UC Citizen (Raid x city utility buildings. Police station, hospital, etc) [Idea: Codi Pippenger]
- Realtor (Raid x residence buildings) [Idea: Codi Pippenger]
- Cartographer (Visit all the possible places once) [Idea: Bill Gescheider]

Other achievements:
- No vacancy (max out the amount of survivors, amount of survivors = current survivor cap) [Idea: Bryan (Quotex Quotemeister)]

The Juggernaut achievement already exists, only difference is that it's for 25.000 kills with melee weapons.

well, they can have a role... but they don't get equipment until you slap something on 'em, so you could send them out naked. :)

Afraid not. The game doesn't let you send survivors with no weapons (including those with no roles, believe me, I tried to do it) on missions, that's why having no weapons in inventory during the tutorial necessitates a reset.

- some like it rough (get injured with a partner in a bedroom in a residence)
- pacifist (run through a mission without hitting/killing one zombie - time must expire)
- guitar hero (kill X number of zombies wielding a guitar)
- road warrior (explore every possible road on the map once)

*A Container Too Far - All survivors injured within the last minute of a mission.
*Bad Day - Fail (all survivors get KOed) x missions in a row.
*Bare Essentials - Complete x missions without using any gear at all.
*EMT - Heal x amount of damage in one mission.
*I Never Asked For This - Change the class of one survivor x times (whenever that gets implemented). Alt - Have a survivor get KOed in x missions in a row.
*Ingenuity - Use only improvised weapons on a mission.
*Rambo - Reload a LMG x times during one mission. Alt - Kill x zombies in one mission before/without reloading.
*Preventative Medicine - x total kills with Medics.
*Prescribing Pain - x total damage with Medics.

Haven't actually played Human Revolution, but I was watching a few videos about it yesterday. :) Only played the first Deus Ex a few years ago, didn't make it too far.

I would call the - Band of Brothers (get 10th survivor) achievement, No Vacancy, reminding us of getting that last Survivor in TLS 1 :D Also this achievement should always be getting the maximum amount of survivors if the survivor cap will ever be increased.

Good ideas.
I see a problem in gun nut & master at arms & etc achievements: We only have 500 inventory slots, and while trying to achieve those you might end up with a full inventory. Worst case would be that you must scrap crafting items and weapons you want to keep.

Here are some idea's:

Heavy rain - own 100 LMG`s
Chef - own 100 zombies with knifes + have a kitchen
Last man standing - 1 survivor left during a compound attack
Flee - Leave a building with <5% hp
Walker - Travel / walk 100m (during a single mission)
Runner - Travel / run 500m (during a single mission)
Sprinter - Travel / sprint 1000m (during a single mission)
Bad luck - Find 10 (crap*)weapons/gear
Curse - Find 100 (crap*)weapons/gear
(*the items with a dark background dunno lol)
Brawler - kill 10 zombies with bare hands
Boxer - kill 50 zombies with bare hands
Rocky - kill 100 zombies with bare hands

- I'm afraid that "own 100 LMG's" can turn out to be tricky: It means that 1/5 of your inventory contains LMG's. "own 150 gear" was hard enough (my inventory was almost full because I didn't want to scrap weapons / junk / crafting items).
- As far as I know it's not possible to punch enemies. You must have a weapon before you can send a survivor into the fray.

I think Iron Chef/Chef of Iron would sound better for the Chef achievement, and Veteran Survivor for the Beta Tester one, but that's just my opinion.

Anyway, here's my next set of suggestions:
* Brutally Efficient - Kill x infected using only one attack each.
* Butcher - Kill x infected with a Cleaver, and have a Kitchen.
* Juggernaut (TLS:UC achievement) - Have a survivor take x damage in one mission without being KOed.
* Keep It Clean - Have 3 max level Showers and 3 max level Outhouses.
* Leading By Example - x kills with your Leader.
* Medieval - Kill x infected with a Mace.
* Messy/Overkill - Deal twice the target's HP in damage.
* Psycho/Serial Killer - Kill x enemies (zombie or human) with a Pocket Knife.
* Smart Move (TLS:UC achievement) - Leave a mission when all but one survivor is KO'ed.
- Alt 1: Leave a mission when there are x infected present.
- Alt 2: Leave a mission with all survivors on the green zone(s).
* Survival Of The Fittest - KO all defending survivors while raiding another compound.
* Thriller - Perform the dance. :)

Moved new and updated ideas from previous list, so it's easier to see. Please don't comment here, as it'll hide this second list.

* Do No Harm - Heal x damage without killing anyone on a mission (timer must expire) with a Medic (other survivors can kill them).
* Grocery Shopping - Purchase x resources from the Fuel Trading Post.
- Alt: Complete x missions in the Convenience Store/Supermarket.
* If You Want Something Done Right... - Complete x missions with your Leader.
- Alt: Manually complete x missions.
* Midnight Snack - Loot x refrigerators.
* Plumber - Kill x infected with a Lead Pipe, and have a Shower/Outhouse.
* Overwhelming Firepower - Only use automatic weapons and kill x infected during a mission.
* Quiet But Deadly - Kill x infected without alerting other infected (post combat rebalancing).
* Risky Endeavor - Send survivors on a mission x levels higher than the Leader.
* Samurai - Kill x infected with one hit using the Katana.
* Soldier/Fire Team - Use only assault rifles on a mission.
* Specialist - Use level-up points to increase only one role for x levels.
* Sniper - x kills with a scoped long rifle.
* Stop, It's... - Get x kills with a Hammer/Improvised or regular Sledge Hammer.
* The Last To Stand - Complete a mission or compound defense with only one survivor remaining.
* Tower Defense - Have 3 max level Watchtowers.
* Treasure Hunter (TLS:UC achievement) - Find x items in good condition.

  • This ain't a gun fight - Kill 50 zombies with a weapon at less than 10% of its max range.

  • Crowd Control - Kill 25 zombies in Security Buildings, when all survivors are wielding Police Batons

  • Reloading, Cover Me! - Protect fellow survivors 25 times while they are reloading.

  • Shoot Straight - Enter a mission with all five survivors equipping glasses.

  • Just for Show - Finish a mission where at least one survivor had a Manning High Power .50 and did not fire it once.

  • Focus Fire - Kill a zombie after at least three survivors have attacked it.

  • Hunting Partners - Enter a mission with at least one Hunting Rifle and one Hunting Knife

Who was that? - this is a secret achievement.

++++++++++++[ SPOILER ALERT ]++++++++++++

- Shot a familiar stranger at least once to unlock this achievement.

A stranger constantly observing you since the start of your survival in the Dead Zone. (creepy) He will appear in one of your missions, observing, but he wont be spotted easily. If you spot him, shot him "manually." He wont get harmed (missed), but will disappear when after being shot at. -J

To be honest i think achievements should be milestone markers and awards for doing really random and absurd stuff you normally wouldn't do. I really don't like the idea of including ones where you intentionally injure your survivors to get an award. Instead you should be awarded for avoiding getting them injured. I'm also not a fan of the have X gear item achievements i thought you guys didn't like people hoarding so much junk.

Anyway here's a few ideas. Names are just the first thing i could think of.

Dude Where's My Car - Loot X vehicles. (should be 100+ at least)

Special Ops - Complete X missions without any injuries.

My Other Gun is in the Shop - Complete a mission using all Grey gear.

Taking Risks - Complete a mission x levels above the highest survivor in the group without injuries. (timer must expire)

Zombie Bait - Complete a mission x levels above with a single survivor (timer must expire)

Ghost - Complete a mission (timer must expire) without alerting a single zombie. (needs the detection system in the game for it)

Shooting Range - Complete a mission with all survivors using rifles (M24 or similar).

Backstabber-Someone that is friendly to you attacks your base.
Fighting the good old way-Use a shotgun to kill a zed with one shot.
Hoarder- Have 250 junk items for two full 24 hour days.
What's ammo- Shot 20,000 bullets.

* Overrun - All survivors KOed while defending the compound.
* Snaking Past/Solid Sneaking - Complete a mission (timer must expire) without alerting any zombies at all.
* Testing The Merchandise - Get x kills with firearms in Gun Stores.
* Where Are They Coming From? - Kill x zombies during one mission.
* Zombicide/Ghost Town/Undead Zone/Depopulated - Kill 350,148 zombies (population of UC before outbreak). [Thanks for reminding me of the Dead Rising achievement, David.]
