"Item was a gift" option - hides cost info
This being Christmas, we're all receiving presents (I hope) from friends and relatives, and adding them to our Delicious Libraries. With this in mind, I think there should be a "This item is a gift" checkbox at the bottom of the Video Barcode Scanner window, and a similar checkbox when looking up manually. The upshot of checking this box is that all cost info will be hidden, whether it be current price, retail price or price paid.

No, you've misunderstood. I'm not talking about giving Delicious Library as a gift. I'm talking about adding items that were gifts TO Delicious Library. I don't know about you, but I don't like to know how much someone's spent on my gift. -
