Is a decoder the primary differentiator between scanners that 'work' and those that don't? Do you offer a datasheet? Is there any way (including an NDA) I can get actual *technical* information on the program's scanner interface? (I wouldn't be opposed to writing my own driver.)
TIA, Dick

As far as scanners are concerned, if you scanner can act like keyboard, then it *should* work with Delicious Library 2. However, I can't make any guarantees–some work great and some just don't work at all. The only scanner we officially support is the Microvision ROV Bluetooth Scanner. I'd suggest searching for specific scanners in these forums and seeing what others users have found.
Usually to activate your scanner, plug it in (or turn it on if it's bluetooth) and select either 'Video Camera Barcode Scanner' from the "Window" menu or 'Enable Bluetooth Scanning' from the "Library" menu. If it's a video camera (Webcam) then you should see it in green text in the bottom of the video feed window. If it's a bluetooth scanner, it should beep when it connects and you should be able to just scan. -

And theres the rub Lia, no other option apart from Video Camera or Bluetooth Scanner which is about 2% of the available barcode scanners available to a Mac.

USB scanners work sometimes, though I've heard of more issues with those than with Bluetooth scanners, so we try to dissuade users from using USB ones. I know there aren't a ton of bluetooth barcode scanners but we think there are enough that work with DL to chose from! We know it's not necessarily ideal, though.

Can I use a scanner to sign in/out books? ... Or is it used just to catalog an in-coming book?
Thanks,
