Q: How does DL3 calculate the replacement cost, used value and total paid for the "summary" report for a shelf?
I have been trying to reproduce the answer in Excel (or apple Numbers) can cannot make my calculations match?
Perhaps everything needs to be in same currency? Manually converting currencies between USD, CAD and AUS updating each entry appropriately ... and the number still don't match :(
Okay time to test with a small shelf of four items:
* Replacement Cost: $120.92
* Used Value: $48.64
* Total Paid: $120.92
Doing the same calculations in Excel give me:
* Retail Price total (taking retail price and number of items into account): 167.36
* Current value total (taking current value and number of items into account): 72.01
So perhaps DL3 is ignoring number of items:
* Retail Price total (taking retail price and setting number of items to 1): 116.02
* Current value total (taking current value and number of items to 1): 45.67
So they still don't match :(
Interesting glitch:
* DL3 is respecting number of items, as a boxed set of lord of the rings (clocking in at 10 disks for $100 as retrieved from Amazon) showed up as a $1000 change to replacement cost in the "report".
