Is anyone having issues with syncing or pairing their iPhone to DL2 after the 3.0 update? It seems that there is a bug in Apples new Game Kit where it broadcasts to find other phones and the broadcasting is on the same frequency as the Bonjour service that we use. This can cause an interruption and make it so your computer and iPhone don't see each other.
There is a workaround for this issue right now; turn off bluetooth before you try pairing your iPhone with your computer. This should keep the process from being interrupted. Once everything is set up, you should be able to turn bluetooth back on and have everything work properly again.
There is documentation the interference of bluetooth and bonjour here: http://developer.apple.com/documentat...

I’m
much happier now
Im getting better results, 3 out of 4 syncs are now working correctly with bluetooth turned off
although i am still seeing the odd 3 to 5 second wait between changes of state between whats on screen and whats on the iPhone. -

I just got a new iPhone 3G S and tried the Delicious Library iPhone app but could not successfully initiate a sync, even though I turned off Bluetooth on both my MBP and my iPhone. They are on the same wireless network and I had library sharing turned on in Delicious Library with both apps running and the iPhone app in sync mode.

Yup, same as Joe above - can't pair (in my case, iPhone 3g, version 3.0). The app persists with the complaint: "To link to your library, launch Delicious Library 2 on your Mac, and ensure "iPhone" shares its AirPort network."

I've (kind of) figured out the problem. When my MBP is connected to my home router wirelessly, the wireless syncing does not work. When it is connected via Ethernet, it does. Not sure what the problem is. On the plus side (for you), I don't think it's an issue with Delicious Library, since another application I use that syncs to my iPhone via Bonjour also only works via Ethernet connection.

Bonjour can be finicky at times (we recently had some issues related to what your iPhone or computer is named). We're trying to iron out the kinks, but there are bugs on Apple's side that need to be resolved as well. Sorry for the inconvenience, and I hope we can get everything running smoothly as soon as possible!

FWIW: Same issue. I first turned Bluetooth off on the iPhone and that didn't work. I turned it off on my MacBook Pro and then sync worked.
Maybe we should call Bonjour to Au Revoir until it's fixed? ;) -

I'm having the same pairing issue with my new iPhone 3GS.
For the record, it worked flawlessly on my iPod Touch 1G with 3.0 installed.
I think there must be a hardware identifier in the 3GS causing a problem or something.
Bluetooth is off, and no matter what I do, it won't go past the sync screen to bring up the passcode.
I've even tried to remove and reinstate Network connection permiossion for DL2.1 and it still does not work.
Very frustrating experience for what is otherwise a great product to use. -

Skooler- Try renaming your computer (system preferences > sharing) and your iPhone (in itunes) and see if that helps any.

I can't pair either. I first had BT on on my iPhone and every time I got to the stage that I'd entered the number on DL2 mac-side my iPhone seemed to drop wireless network. Firing up a totally different app initiated the wireless network to be picked up again. This was repeated about 5 times including a iPhone restart halfway through.
I've turn BT off now and the wireless network isn't dropped however there is no linking occurring. -

Joost- Have you tried renaming your computer and iPhone?
sst261- Unfortunately we were required to remove our application from the iTunes app store as per Amazon's request
Rene DePuy- Try creating a computer-to-computer network. To do this, go to the wifi menu on your mac and select the option to "Create Network". This will prompt you to give the network a name and password. Once you've done this, connect your computer and iPhone to the network and try syncing again.-
I renamed my computer and i-phone and after a couple of tries the sync finally worked! Thank you. I did notice that the i-phone could not be connected at first. I changed the computer name and then plugged in the i-phone. I made sure the name on the i-phone was changed and then opened DL2 on my i-phone. After that I opened it on the mac and the sync screen was there finally.

I was able to sync by 1. Quitting both apps, 2. Turning off BT on MBP and iPhone, 3. Launching DL on MBP, 4. Launching iPhone app.

3.1 apparently does fix at least the wifi issue, don't know about the BT one.
From testing sync, I can sync a small shelf under 50 items easy, anything that takes longer than 20 seconds to pack and transfer, then the chances of Wifi dropout are too great and you get the great "there was a hiccup" message or even worse the "where = the = frack = did= my = sync = window = go = the = bugger = just = disappeared!" error.
Im still surprised that sync over cable is not implemented.
