screwing your user base
You are really screwing your user base by releasing DL3 as a separate app instead of updating the current DL2! I am starting to dislike your company.

I’m sorry you’re upset. I do feel immense loyalty to our users, but upgrade revenue is a huge part of how we stay alive as a company.
Delicious Library 2 is on version 2.7.8 now—that means there have been a ton of free upgrades to Delicious Library 2 already. Also, I had the Mac App Store leave Delicious Library 2 up and active specifically so I can continue to fix bugs and make it better.
We’ve worked on Delicious Library 3 for five years. Almost every line of code is different. Delicious Monster could not survive if we didn’t charge for that work.
I hope that you continue to enjoy the product that we worked so hard to create.

You could have updated DL2 and kept the price - so new users would pay for the app a normal price but your current user base would benefit from the loyalty to your company and product and would not be left with an old application that will not be serviced (esp. if they bought the app just recently!)
