Click on Windows start menu, select control panel (classic view) . Click on the Sound icon. Select "speakers/headphones" and then click on the "set as default" button. If you don't see that choice, right click in the window and select "show disabled". In pull-down window, select "enable."

Hi,
I eventually found that the chap who had reloaded my laptop when he fitted a new HD had not loaded the driver.................................

So, all my hunting for solutions as above came to nothing!!!

Thanx anyway
