Well, it's actually been 52 hours since I had my upper and lower teeth extracted and immediate dentures put in...

I feel fine, except when I eat, of course.  I can't chew, but I can eat pudding and soup.  I had a Little Debbie Fudge Round, which is incredibly soft, so I took small pieces and tried to chew them.  Ha, not a chance, just let them dissolve in my mouth.

I'm on Penicillin, and some pain killer that's a little stronger than Advil.  Except for the fact that I can't chew, it's been so much easier than I thought it would be.  I'm also on some anti-inflammatory thing and that seems to be helping.

I took my dentures out for the first time last night and saw my mouth without any teeth, and it was quite a sight.  But I'm glad I did it and I'm glad they're gone.

But the pain is a non issue.  I don't know if I'm lucky, my dentist amazing, or it's because I have good bone structure.

I'm looking forward to the day when I can bite into a meatballs sub, but right now I'll settle for pasta.

I'm so happy I got this done, I feel like celebrating, even though I have a string of appointments for soft realigns, then the fun time of getting molds for my permanent dentures.  But some day soon, it'll all be over and I'll be done with dentists, for the most part, forever.

I had very little pain when i had mine done too. Couple of sore spots here and there ,and boy did they hurt .But its the best feeling being able to smile again and not have any sore throbbing teeth.

Hopefully the no pain thing continues - watch out for day 3/4!

The first couple weeks, my gums looked like a dang war zone so you're not alone there.  The emotional side of it was worse than the physical in a lot of ways, but it gradually decreased until its all good, all the time!

Its always awesome to hear great experiences.  Thanks for sharing.

Talking isn't too bad. I worked at a day camp for the summer and didn't take a day off, just fought through it.  It's getting better, I read a lot out loud and play my guitar and sing.  I feel like when I had a retainer from when I was a kid, but I got used to that, I'll adjust to this.

Not taking a day off is pretty impressive, man.
