8 hours after surgery

So I'm 8 hours after having 13 teeth pulled with Novocaine. To be honest went as well as I could have hoped, the molars that wouldn't come out was a little traumatic and ended up with stitches but my new teeth are really good. Feel very strange and my tongue keeps trying to find its new place. Don't wish to sound gross but I'm still bleeding a little - is this normal ? I've managed to eat some soup and ice cream and drinking is a little strange, pain has
been manageable so far with Ibuprofen. Not looking forward to trying to sleep with them in as my dentist has advised as worried about still bleeding. Anyone out there had this and what did you do on your first night ?

Thanks for your reply, it's so good to know I'm not alone. My dentist has said to keep my dentures in for 48 hours then I go back on Thursday for them to take a look and do any small adjustments I may need. Feel like I've got a mouthful of plastic at the moment - which I have.! The bleeding isn't as bad as it was so as its 9.20pm here in UK I'll see how I get on during the night. I'm taking 400g Ibuprofen every 4 hours and seem to be managing with that. Tomorrows a new day eh ? At least I can almost smile now, as still a little numb

I had bleeding for three days, so not to worry. I had no stitches because I had a lot of bone loss and gum tissue was thin. I was skeptical but am healing up well. I did begin rinsing with warm salt water on day 2 and it had helped with the healing process a lot.

You are doing well. For what seems so odd now, you will get used to it. Just look often at nice teeth and it will help your process. Bleeding can be for a day or more sometimes. Ibuprofen at bedtime will help you sleep.

Thanks guys I can't take my new teeth out for 48 hours so roll on Thursday when I can start my salt water rinsing, after seeing the dentist. It's a bit like a hurdle race eh you go along on the straight for a while, then have another hurdle to jump. Well I've just jumped the biggest one, the rest won't be so high or hard - I hope. Next hurdle taking my teeth out myself.
Thank you for your words of encouragement it means such a lot.

I had 6 lower teeth out yesterday and an immediate denture put in, I am sore on the left side, I bleed from 3pm till 8 pm, I just kept rinsing my mouth with water and took pain killers, don't put any pressure on the gums, the bleeding will stop.
