I have had my dentures for 4 weeks. i am having a proplem with my lowers i have used every product out there (Adhesives} and the longrst they have held is about 3 hours. I can not eat with my lowers inas the rock side by side and front to rear. this lossent the adhesive and the lowers come out. What i don't understand is that the last few days i havent eaten and the adhesive failed. you company claims 12 hours, my dentist says i will need to use fixodent 2 to 4 times a day. I have asked about reling the bottom but they are shying away from that.

They may charge you to reline them.   HOLD THEIR FEET TO THE FIRE!!!  If you have JUST gotten them, in my humble opinion they should be taking care of them in whatever way at no charge.  Meanwhile, for the next day or so, cooperate with your dentist's suggestion, but continue to be a squeaky wheel.  This isn't legal advice, but I'm a retired legal assistant who worked or plaintiff attorneys and their advice to clients was always complain, complain, complain.

I had to have dentures because my dentist felt I had too much bone loss.  Sometimes I think there are those of us who are not fated to be able to take advantage of new technology.

Hi Howard, sorry to hear about the difficulty you’ve had keeping your lower denture in place. I understand it’s very frustrating that the adhesives you’ve used aren’t keeping it stable. Lowers are notorious for being harder to keep in place. As you probably know, Fixodent can only be used once per day, as recommended. If you have to reapply more often, especially when you haven’t eaten, please call our team at 1-855-236-3353 for further assistance. Thanks so much for writing, and I hope that you can get your denture fitting better soon!

I have written this before. I have the same problem. When I eat within 30 minutes my lower denture lifts up and i must reappy fixodent. I was told not to do this more than once a day, but I have no choice.... both bottom and top seeps food inside the denture when I eat and it hurts. My dentures have been realigned and I was told by my dentist this is the problem with lowers and that it would help if I added posts added to my jaw to "lock" into my denture. But I have alot of bone loss and I might not be a candidate. I did get a 2nd opinion to ensure my dentures were made correctly which i was told was indeed made right. I have tried seabond and even purchased "secure" from Amazon which I was told on this site by many folks that they swear by it... It burns and stings badly for almost 10 minutes and afterwards i seem to have the same problem as the fixodent, after I eat it lifts up. If I would have known I would have this embarressing problem before I woudn't have gotten dentures and just dealt with the pain of my natural teeth, this is awful.

I'm still pretty new to dentures and try different techniques to keep the lower plate planted. I was having the same issue with It lifting up when I ate.

So I sat down and carefully read the directions and followed the illustrations. The upper became too glued in so I'm using less adhesive. I use a little more on the bottoms.

I've found that rinsing them with warm water and thoroughly drying them before applying the adhesive really helps.
