Hi Susan, sorry to hear that you are having difficulty using one of our denture adhesives. Some factors that can affect the hold of a denture adhesive include the fit of your denture, changes in the condition of your gums or bone structure, very hot or very cold food, or any medications you may be taking. Also, make sure your denture is dry before applying Fixodent cream. If this persists, mention it to your dentist. If you would like more information, please call us at 1-800-214-8871. Thank you for sharing your concerns!

I have the same problem. I need to apply the adhesive before every meal. I apply it before breakfast. It seems to hold pretty good. During lunch once I start eating it starts to move. This is when I decided I need to apply it before I eat. My dentist told me I would probably need to do this. I think you need to change your commercial. You say fixodent and forget it!! It's very disappointing to find out your commercial is not true. Don't apply more than once a day!! Wrong! How many people apply it once a day??? Pretty lucky if you do!

Hi there, sorry to hear that your denture adhesive isn’t holding all day, but Fixodent is only recommended for once daily use. Would you mind giving us a call at 1-800-214-8871 so we can learn more and talk through your experience? We're open Monday through Friday from 9:00-6:00 Eastern time and would be happy to help. Thanks!

Thanks for your idea. I tried the powder. It doesn',t work too well for me. I will try again. It all depends what I eat. If I try to eat sandwiches it comes loose right away. I Maybe I am not using enough powder. I will use a little more next time. Your right it's not as messy!

I totally agree that the commercial is bogus. I have to reapply before every meal also. Very embarrassing when you're dining out.

Hi Susan, please call our care team at 1-800-214-8871 if you find you need to apply Fixodent more than once per day. It is formulated for all day hold, so we’d like to hear more about your situation. Thanks!

Hi Nancy! Sorry that you are having difficulty getting your dentures to remain in place. Fixodent is formulated to last all day with just one application. Unfortunately, if your dentures do not fit well, Fixodent will not be as effective. Your dentist will be your best resource to get your denture fitting properly. They may be able to add a soft liner or adjust the denture to fit better. If you’d like more information, please call our team at 1-855-236-3353. Hope this helps, and best of luck!

I have heard of the top denture extending too far into the back of the mouth causing discomfort for some, but the additional length is sometimes necessary for suction. It sounds like you’re experiencing both a lack of suction and gag reflex issues. Unfortunately, I wouldn’t recommend trying to shave down the denture yourself. It’s better left up to a professional, because there’s always a chance the denture could be damaged beyond repair. So sorry that your dentist isn’t being flexible with making adjustments for you, and I’m sorry I can’t be of more assistance! Please keep us posted with your progress. :)
