I have a full set for about 3 months now and I am having an issue with either the denture creme, Polident, or the polident soaking tabs. The area around my mouth and lips seemed to be breaking out with a red rash and my lips are sore? Any ideas?
I had an allergic reaction to the adhesive even though it had NO zinc. Thank goodness my top denture fits perfectly, but I have to constantly use the drug store version of a re-line every 2 months on my bottom denture. . It still moves but I've learned how to control it with my tongue. Dentist gave me an antibiotic and benadryl for the rash. Went away in a few days after I stopped using the adhesive. Good luck
Well I have been using Secure denture adhesive and it is amazing...will probably work even better once I get new set of dentures. I have been having a lot of issues with mine..right down to not being able to chew correctly so no eating other than mostly pasta and I am 13 months into this...Well long story short my perm. dentures were made to big for my mouth..I kept telling my dentist I felt like I had a mouthful of ...... and there was not enough room in my mouth for food and teeth..thought I was just going to have to deal with it until the dentist sent me to another dentist and you'll never believe it...the new dentist understood everything I was telling him and now I'm onto a new set..at no cost to me because the first perm were made standard and my mouth is smaller than that. So always no matter how silly it may sound..if your uncomfortable then there is an issue it is not in your imagination..
This Dentist said he has been making them for 34 years so I really hope he knows what he is talking about. I sure hope it is a lot easier once they fit correctly...If I have an issue believe me I will nag until I'M COMFORTABLE I am not going to think this is the way it has to be anymore! I miss my JUNK food..haven't had a chip or anything crunchy for 13 months...my waistline says Thank you very much but losing 45 pounds is not something I had in mind..js
I have been trying to figure out what was causing my mouth, tongue and lips to get raw, as if they are burned and blistered. Finally put two and two together and the end result was fixodent. I have to use a glue, so I have found that I have to go without my teeth for a few days and it'll clear up. Until the next time.
