I had 16 teeth extracted, but I had no such problem.  Call your dentist as soon as you can.  Hopefully, someone here has some good advice for you.  Good luck.

Today I just made 2 weeks after the exrraction of 8 upper teeth pulled at one time, but I didn't have that problem. I know I rinsed several times a day with warm salt warm. That made a huge difference in the comfort area. I would seriously contact the dentist as soon as possible. My dentist had me on antibiotics.

I'm with you, Tonja, about getting nauseated on salt water.  I've told my dentist repeatedly that I have trouble with it, but it seems it just goes in one ear and out the other.  I don't know why the makers of toothpaste and mouthwashes don't come up with products designed to help denture wearers with  a lot of the problems that are dicussed in this forum.  Products to clean the dentures themselves are good, but nothing for getting the "stuff" out of the mouth when the choppers come out.

Right on Mara Jane........I am using organic Coconut oil which works good on the Secure adhesive, probably works on other brands too. The advantage to that is that coconut oil pulls germs out of your mouth and sinuses too which is a plus. Google "oil pulling" for info on that.

More advice on coconut oil. Use a teaspoon full...swish in mouth for a few minutes then spit in trash, not in sink or toilet, could clog. It is semi solid in jar, but liquefies in mouth. Then I rinse with water, them with mouthwash. It usually loosens up any adhesive residue by this point. Your mouth feels so clean. It can make you gag first time or two, lean forward so it doesn't go toward throat if so. Spit sooner first few times if necessary but you will get used to it. It is natural so no chemicals are in this process. This is good to help save natural teeth too. I received my tip when it was too late to save teeth but still is very helpful now. If by chance you are replacing denture right away after this, rinse with water a few times and dry mouth first. All oil must be removed or adhesive won't adhere. I usually give my mouth a rest after doing this. Hope it is helpful. I get jar for $5.99 at Trader Joe's or Wal-Mart. Lasts several months.

Dilute it a little more and lean your head forward when your swish so none goes down your throat. You can figure out a way to make it work it's important. Waiting to hear how visit goes.
