Datsun 260Z used him for his upper along with quite a few others I know from another forum.
At some point I plan to get a set made with Karadent by TCS which he offers.
His Etsy Ratings are great and the prices can't be beat.

Sharon he does it all by mail. I have been in touch with him and know several others in here who have used him. He is very good at the art he creates and a very caring man. Have you contacted him yet by any chance since you wrote this 2 mo ago but I am just now seeing it. Good Luck.

I wouldn't mess with RK. After a very long, expensive process the final product was awful. I got my money back after I demanded he give me his license #. He's not licensed. I can't believe Etsy lets this guy do this. They must be making some money so there ya go.

Yes. I had 11 teeth extracted and 11 implants put in 15 years ago. All failed a few years ago. I still have 16 teeth remaining, seven upper front and 9 lower front. Several of them are loose and at least one is infected. I'm so tired of trying to save these crappy teeth and it's always something new, like gum scrapings, caps, root canals, bone grafts. And my teeth always hurt.

Barbara I'm so sorry to hear of all these troubles.  I guess I never heard of implants actually failing - I'd love it if we heard more of the "realities" that happen with implant processes.

In my situation, I had bridges and crowns failing all over the place and, like you, I was in pain all the time.  My uppers were so infected so much of the time, I thought I had allergies.  I don't.

My dentist talked me into keeping my front upper 6 teeth because the bone is just so good in there.  But the bone above the premolars and molars is just horrible, so I have an acrylic partial that I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy (really ill-fitting) that I'm going to go back to my dentist about this week, if I can, so I can actually eat a Thanksgiving meal.  But in terms of my health - SO much better.  No more infection, and inflammation is under control.

I pray you get a resolution that will bring an end to the pain and help you regain your health - that's what we're all trying to do, and it's really good to have a group of friends you can talk with about this stuff.

Like Barbara I'm new to this. I read everything I could. I even messaged Russell Klein and thought the medium set would work for me for the three months I have to wait for custom set. So I ordered the medium set. I received one small upper no lower. I'm $200 sad. A set is an upper and lower also the upper looks like it's for a child or very small person. If he makes it right I'll let everyone know. If not I'll have to raise a fuss on etsey cause I want my money back. I'm waiting for a response from him now.

I had the same problem with him and had to go through my credit card company to get a refund for the same issue. I know another lady who did the same..same problem as you describe, product not as described. Since then he must have learned to just settle with the customer because his ad was not the same as what he sent. He has done this with many and most people just roll over and do not complain. He may have been a good business man at one time but Paul Clikwinski "Russell Klein"  is getting really bad now.  He had blocked my ability to reach him on Etsy and ignored my emails to him so contacting the credit card company was all I had left that I could do.

I believe people ordered the display models. The ones premade that you see are displays. They won't work as dentures for the average individual because they are not for that persons mouth.
You have to buy the molding kit, send it in, so he can make custom dentures.

Don't waste your money on the display $200. Even though I asked a lot of questions never got a clear answer. At the time I was worried and scared about having no teeth for 3 months so I ordered these. Waste of money!!! And no refund. Hope this helps someone, it would have helped me ! All you see is positive reviews, which sends up a red flag. I feel stupid for falling into the trap. So that's my take on the RC etsy ripoff.

Carole so in the end you got a refund from Rk  That sounds like a good thing and not a bad thing.
about RK???
Is everyone saying the display models do not work and the custom models are better from RK?    Most of the people on this blog who have spent  thousands  with private dentists   are complaining and they are not getting  refunds and losing thousands not $200
Was this an upper or a lower denture???
So in the end RK fixed the problem for you??  Did he fix it with a custom model or with a display model??

Display models are just that.  They are not meant to ne someone's denture.  No way would they fit properly in anyone's mouth.  That's why impressions are taken no matter where you go.

No , I did not get a refund. I was sent a small upper, when I had ordered a full set. I sent it back an received the medium full set. As I said it was a display model. Their worthless to me. I was told that a lot of people were able to make these work, but I can't do anything with them. On the site it says no refund on the display. Your looking at a lot more money for the custom set. Personally I wouldn't do a custom set after that, I feel I was mislead. I asked about the price of the custom set but was not given a price. After looking though reviews it looks like they run around 6 to 7 hundred though RC. Hope that was clear enough.

I've never know anyone to be able to wear a set meant to be used for display purposes only.  It clearly states that's what they are for.  Why did you expect to wear them????  His rates for ultra thin is approximately $1000, far less than a dentist office.  The only way to get good fitting dentures is to order an impression kit to start.  That's how dentists do it as well.

Why would anyone want a $200 display? It shows on the site in reviews that people were using them also I ask questions directly to RC asking those questions. Was told they did. Do what ever you want. I posted my information to help others so they wouldn't make the mistake I did.

As I said ( maybe you should read what I said) it was my mistake but it was misleading. Why didn't he tell me clearly when ask that they would not be usable in my situation. I do not appreciate the notty shit. Again!!!! I hope others don't make the same mistake. I knew nothing about dentures before this that's why I'm on this site. I saved the original on my computer and it did not say display. So quit calling me a liar.

When I've asked my millions of questions via email in his Etsy store, I have a detailed reply within 12-24 hours. Because I was very specific in what I want (I've researched for a year) he advised once my impression is shipped back to him, he will create my custom order & invoice me so I know what I'm getting.
I'll post the info he relayed in our conversations via email here on this thread this evening if it'd help anyone.

Hi  Ilicia

I am a little confused by your post
Are you saying you want implants but you want to get the less expensive interum dentures from RK on the internet because they are inexpensive??  It sounds like a good idea

Have you already picked out the person that is going to do your implants and the permanent
denture?  Is the same dentist that is doing the extractions also doing the implants and also doing the permanent bridge???

I would ask this dentist for his  advise.  Just tell him you need  to save money on the intermediate dentures and want to buy them from RK and see what  he advises???

Since so many people  have trouble with the lower denture  perhaps you should only get the top dentures from RK and forget about buying  the lower intermediate denture.
I would ask that question of your implantologist also.

I want to tell you that I had full upper and full Lower implants over 10 years ago and they
turned out perfectly.  They are exactly like my own teeth and I never had one minute of troubel
with them.  They have been wonderful in every way

Could you  let us know what you are paying for the extractions and then what you are paying for the implants with the permanent bridge
I hope you have selected someone with implant experience and implant education and have seen his credentials on the internet

Good luck
Barbara

There is also another denture provider online. JOsDentures he is on Facebook and he has a website.  He is easy to reach, will text and talk on the phone. His prices are the best. He is faster. I have dentures from both RK and JO and I am pleased with Jamie, JO Dentures.  Give him a try. Look at his work and phone or text him.

Implants are expensive. My husband has them and I'm about to get them. You CANNOT use just any denture. If you want immediate dentures that can be converted then they will cost you about $5000 for both upper and lower. RK dentures CANNOT be converted to implant arches. There are metal and mesh supports in the arches for implants that aren't in normal immediate dentures. You could very well be setting yourself up for dentures permanently if you don't follow a prescribed plan from an experienced provider. My immediate dentures cost $5000 and will be converted to arches once my posts are healed.

There are no short cuts for implants.

I am wanting to have dentures made for my husband. I have sent the $50 for the impressions...it''s a lot of money for us, but I have had success in the past with issues and as my Niece is high powered attorney in NYC, even though the laws differ from state to state...she knows people. I am just hoping it turns out well, as I am one of those that would get her advice, call news stations etc....any updated form any of you?

But Russell Klein is just a name for a group in a lab. He is not a real person. Sort of like Betty Crocker . A pseudonym.  You will notice that different people answer his email. And he has never spoken to a customer.  JO Dentures is a real person who has a Facebook group and page and he has a website and he communicates with customers. His prices are less than half of RK's and his work far superior. Someone also recently started a JO Dentures support group. Donna Sloan and she has lot os You Tube videos about dentures. Right now she has a contest going on to give away a set of JOs Dentures.

Actually not true. Russel is a pseudonym for one man. He has hired help to deal with mailing and emails. The tech is ONE PERSON. If he didn't have help doing mails and replies he'd be further behind than he is. His products are fabulous. I have 3 items that were made, a 4th coming. He is amazing. Slow. But amazing.

Hi Renate, I got burned by RK and would not suggest to anyone to go with him. There is no picture of him and I don't think that is his real name. I used Paypal and they got most of my money back for me after I placed a formal complaint on him. It was truly a nightmare with him! Back and forth to the Post office to send back impressions, etc and it took all told 6 months or more...and I will not get any of those costs back however. What do you expect with store bought teeth, I suppose. Etsy should not be allowing such people to sell on their site and I told them so. They didn't care. "Russell" finally agreed to return my money when I demanded he give me his Florida license #. BOOM Got the money back. Clear sign he is not licensed and not supposed to be doing the work. Just another online con who may get it right once in awhile but for me and many others, NOT. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. I was so hopeful like you. God bless you in your search for teeth. It's been a really tough journey for me.

Debi, I have some serious questions. If RK is so good, why do you need so many items from him? Good dentures will last at least 10 years. Also, he is not licensed. Why? He uses a fake name and does not personally speak to his customers, why? It’s also very sketchy that he doesn’t offer refunds. He should stand behind his work 100%. To me it’s all too risky.

Did you not read my issues? My first set was freaking awesome. Perfect. I had a dental disaster and had to have it remade. It was decent enough for a temp (I was only 6 months out.). The partial is when all hell broke loose. 5 months. Many many waxtryins. Last one was perfect. Absolutely perfect. The actual appliance was not at all close to the waxtryin. I had actually asked for a refund at 3 months in. Promised I would have a partial by the end of the month. 2 months later, unwearable partial arrives and he refuses to communicate with me anymore. I know that denturists aren't licensed. So gimme a break. I HAve said I wish I could take down my complimentary posts. I can't. Not sure what else I can do.

I've recently joined this forum and have already had great replies to my first post.  I already wear partial upper and lower dentures and have, unfortunately, been told that I have to have my remaining teeth removed.  This will be  done all in one go in hospital, as a day patient, in July.  I will then have to wait for healing (my dentist says two to three weeks - I hope he's right), before he can start making my new dentures, so that means six to eight weeks with no teeth at all. I can cope with that physically because the end result will be well worth it, but my vanity is my biggest problem!   I think I can manage without teeth at home, but it would be good to have some that I can just put in when I have to go out and about while I am waiting for my actual dentures to be completed.  I see that Russell Klein offers display dentures as well as the kits. I won't need a kit because I am happy for my dentist to make my permanent dentures.  Has anyone on here tried Russel Klein's display dentures simply for display?

People have made it work but it's hit and miss. You have to do adjustments. Soft relines . Pray. Some can make it work. Some cannot. The bad thing is when it doesn't work people get mad and leave him horrible reviews or come to forums or groups and bash him russel uas made many immediate sets while people still have their terth. Not sure why your dentist won't do that...

Thanks, Debi.  I don't mind a bit hit and miss seeing as they will only be temporary until my dentist makes my permanent dentures.  I will only want them for when I can't avoid having to go out and face people!  I will mention temporaries to my dentist on my next appointment, but I don't think it's done here.  I will ask, though.

RK has already made dentures that people can purchase if they need them. They go from small-Large. I had purchased a lower small denture for my neighbor who needed some quick, so she could eat. They fit her well other than doing some minor adjustments that anyone could do if they have common sense.

You’re welcome:). She didn’t go through the impression kit or anything like that. Basically, I just sized her broken denture and took a wild guess that she would fit in a small lower on Russell’s website. So I went and ordered it. Cost was $100 usd for the acrylic lower small. That’s nothing special added, just the denture. The only issue was it was a little high, so I took out my dremal tool and took just a hair line off and buffed it out and she’s doing great with it. I actually invited her to dinner last night and she ate very well with it. (Pork spare ribs) I would not suggest just purchasing a upper denture as I did the lower, the upper palate seems to be more complex then the lower gums. But, it’s highly up to the person in need and their budget. Btw the shipping only took less than a week and she was wearing them. Hope this helps. :)

Kathy. If you do purchase his display aka already made dentures, do go out to harbor freight or Walmart whichever one is closer and convenient and purchase the dremal tool and the buffer/ diamond bur attachments. This way of you need to adjust the denture/s you have it already. If you have any more questions pls feel free to ask. I will help you as much as I can.

Thank you so much for your replies, Todd. I am a Brit living in France so will be unable to do that, although I have heard of Dremel tools so they might be available here.  I am having dentures made by my dentist but am looking for something temporary to tide me over when I have several teeth removed in July and before the dentist can start making the dentures.   He says he can start them two to three weeks after the extractions and that they will take around five weeks,  but vanity is making me look for something cosmetic in the meantime! I think I will cope with things like eating, but it's facing the outside world that worries me. Fortunately, I am semi-retired and work from home so I don't have to go out to work!

I totally understand! I wouldn’t be caught anywhere without my dentures. Good thing you are semi retired, but definitely need something temporary until you get your perms. Another option if you can’t find a dremal tool would be nail files not the metal ones, but the 4 sided blocked ones. If you do decide to go this route, check out that ladies videos from that you tube channel I posted earlier. She actually dremal her one set of dentures into the horseshoe and she loves it. She has a ton of helpful advice on there. Again, if u have any questions I’m just a email away. :)

Thank you so much, Todd, and for the link.  Believe it or not, I used to be a dental nurse but in those days I didn't need dentures although I learned a lot about them and, as a chairside assistant, I would be the one mixing up the alginate and so on, and liaising with the technicians. I never imagined that I would one day need dentures myself!  That was in the UK and, if I was still there, I would be able to call on my old boss because he is still practicing.  Here in France, dentists are harder to find and their waiting lists for appointments are longer, but I have at last  managed to find one that I have confidence in.  I just have to go through the extractions (which are booked in for July in hospital under a local anaesthetic) and that period afterwards with barely any teeth left.  I know it will all be worth it in the end!

Thanks, Barbara. I have thought about that and could possibly get away with it as it's only short term. As I've said, it's purely for cosmetic/vanity reasons and the top ones would be more important to me that the bottom ones.  I am going to email Russell Klein and ask for his thoughts!

Yes, Barbara, Todd does seem to be very knowledgeable about RK dentures so I will be picking him brains, I'm sure!  I'm not getting implants, I am having new dentures but they won't start being made until a few weeks after I have extractions in July.  I have no idea how much implants cost here in France, but I expect they would be expensive. As I already have partials, I am happy to have dentures - they will cost around €2000 and I will get around half of that back via private insurance and the state health system.

Hi Kathy
I understand that many people in England and Europe go to Budapest to have implants done
very inexpenively..
Do you have any interest in that??
Anything you could find out about the cost of them for us  would be appreciated on our site here

Implants are a great way t go and over dentures or clip on dentures to implants are fairly inexpensive??   Bottom dentures are usually a problem that are realy well handle with 2 or 3 implants

Let us know anything you find out
Good Luck

Hello Kathy, my apologies for the late response. Been working 12 hour shifts lately. It's good that you do have knowledge about the denture process, but it's too bad that you're not living close to your dental practice that you used to work for. Because that would definitely be a plus to your situation. The main thing is getting something temporary after the rest of your extractions. I wanted to state that my mother has a full upper denture and a partial denture for her lower, now she has to get the rest of her real teeth removed due to periodontal disease and get a full lower. She is upset that the dentist didn't just pull all of them at once and now she has to go back to finish the process 2 years later after her partial. Are you going through the same? I'm wondering why the dentist didn't pull all of them knowing about her condition with periodontal disease and now she has to go back and do it over again. I know dentist say that they want to save the real teeth, but in that situation it's pointless to the patient. Just my opinion... It will all work out anyways and they will look nice. :)
Hope you're having a good day or night over that way.

Hi, Todd. Sadly, I do have to have the rest of my teeth (ten)  removed. My dentist here says I might as well have them all out now otherwise I will be going backwards and forwards for extractions over the next couple of years. I don't relish the thought of having them all out but the end result will be worth it. Fortunately, I don't have periodontal disease - it's just age and wear and tear!  Having had partials (upper and lower) I am at least used to wearing dentures.  Dentists do want to save real teeth but only where it's viable and in my case it isn't.

Thank you so much for all your replies. They are much appreciated.

As for whatever the time difference is - whereabouts are you?  I'm in France and, at the time of posting this, it's 7.30 am.

Hello Kathy, it's morning here almost 9am. I'm about to head into work for 12 hrs. I live in a small town outside of Pensacola FL. Good place to surf

France, how nice. I have always wanted to visit. There's a 13 hour difference between you and I.
Its good to know that you're almost done with the last remaining teeth. Your finished outcome will be great and you will be happy that you will never have to deal with another toothache again.

Hope you're having a good night as I think it's 8:30 where you are.

I've never been to the States but it's on my list; I have family in Baltimore and in Florida.  I remember my mum (who had lung problems) visiting Florida and saying that during her time there she felt the healthiest she had ever felt.

France is a beautiful country but very bureaucratic. We have been here for nine years and now want to move back to be closer to the family and because we miss the buzz of life in Britain. Where we are is lovely but too quiet and too slow for us  . We have our house up for sale but the market here is very slow.

Yes, although I don't want to have the rest of my teeth out, it will be great to be done with all things dental and to be able to smile and eat properly again!

Right now it's 5.30 pm and I will be getting dinner started soon!

YEP, My dentures were awful also. I opt for the ultra thin dentures. Could not wear them. Did not look or feel like a finished product. NO standing, NO polishing. They were so harsh I could not wear them. Made sores in my mouth. He wanted pictures of the sores of my mouth. REALLY!!!! Why don't you just say you think I am lying!

Well  it sounds like a good idea to keep temporares as inexpensive as possible
Maybe you should   just get the uppers since lower are so hard to wear
Are you having it done in the hospital because of sedation??   Is it more
money to have it done in the hospital  with sedation  Can they save any of your teeth
 especially on the bottom??
Keep us posted on your journey  as this is a  support and learning blog
We would also like to know the cost and the town and state you live in/
We should start just a cost blog so we could compare costs since that is such a blind thing
Good luck

RK or Russell Klein is a mail order Denture Place  He is inexpensive
He makes stock or Display models which are his least expensive
Or Custom models where he has a mold kit so you can do your own impressions
Some one should List  his prices on the new price blog

Hi Barbara. I just posted this on another thread. I absolutely love RK and he's a real artist at what he does! Here's a link to a lady that has a You tube channel that wears RK dentures. She has 3 pairs one including the horseshoe denture. Her videos tall about everything dentures and adhesives and tons about Russell Klein dentures. I suggest anyone that wears dentures or looking to get dentures made by Russell to watch her videos. She is also very helpful and answers questions right away if you email her.
Here's her link. Best of luck to all of you.  https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC8FThvVNv1Kmb9MBp9bZmRA

I hat to other you
But you are the go to person about   RT dentures

I am trying to help a friend who has had a disaster with her dentures
She paid $5,000 plus   for upper and lower denturees

She can not wear   the bottoms at all
The dentist did not help her

She has been able   to wear the top denture and liked it but now she has developed a sore spot on her gums and is in pain with it

She went to a consulting dentist before the spot  spot was a problem   and he said the upper denture was too long and a new one would cost $1,500 or   $2,000.

He recommended a bottom denture secured with 2 implants
She does not have this money
His office also told her that her dentures were a very poor quality denture
She had a an immediate "permanent" denture given to her by her original dentist
She never got a first Temporary denture

I recommended RK,  based on people on this site recommending him  and I sent her this price list.

Do you have any advise or recommendations for her?

She dos not use the internet or a computer so I have to help her and I am clueless about RK and dentures altogether

Below I have a link to porcealin teeth from RK
What is this? Is it just a sample of teeth and what is it for??
Could you click on this and tell me what it is used for??

Sorry for this long winded explanation
Can you help us?
Barbara

Hello Barbara, first off I'm sorry to hear about your friend and the issues that she has been having with her dentures. She did pay a ton for Dentures too! Was that price for Dentures and extractions? Or just the denture? Does she have sore spots still? I know of a good liner that helps with that and if it's applied properly will alleviate any soreness she has right away. I also was wondering why she never had a temporary denture and was put right into the permanent. That's most likely be the issue with the fit and discomfort. Also, she shouldn't need implants unless her lower jaw is completely gone. If a denture is made correctly it will fit. Maybe some adhesive here and there, but she definitely shouldn't have problems like she's having.

I checked out the links that you posted and those are denture teeth. She wouldn't need those unless she was making or fixing her denture.
I'm posting the links here to the impression kit which if she wants to go through Russell this is what she would have to buy to start the process. Then I'm posting Russell email address to email him if she decides to get dentures through him. Definitely ask him any questions, he is always willing to help and knows more than I do. I just wear his dentures. It might take a day or so for him to respond back as he is always busy and very popular.

Hope this helps. -Todd

Don;t waste your time with Russell Klein.  His products are only good once in a while.  People are getting the wrong products, he forgets to send pieces of the kit.  I have been waiting since April9th and he has my dentures.  Supposedly he shipped my wax try in yesterday and all that happened was a shipping label was created.  His facebook group is just one big ad.  If you write anything negative, you are dumped and blocked.

First of all I don't know how to thank you
I copied everything you wrote and emailed it to her
She does not know one thing about the internet

You asked:

"Does she have sore spots still? I know of a good liner that helps with that and if it's applied properly will alleviate any soreness she has right away"

Oh that would be such a big help!!!  Could you  please  send me the name of that??

The consulting dentist that she saw said the uppers were too long?  He just wanted to make a new set that she could not afford for $1,500 or $2,000.

Is there any place she can go to just make the uppers shorter???
She is in Florida Boynton Beach
She is broke now.

I have no idea why the dentist did not make temporarys?
Her dentist  never told my friend she should have permanent one's made   My friend paid $5,000 +    and the extractions were extra and  done at a surgeons office for another large sum above the $5,000+

I thought that link I sent you of sample teeth was to pick out a color or a shape from RT??

I am hoping she can get a temporary fix on these  dentures and then order from RT because he takes a while I understand???

Thanks again Todd you are a prince

Hello Barbara

I'm going to try and answer these to the best of my knowledge.

Does she have sore spots still? I know of a good liner that helps with that and if it's applied properly will alleviate any soreness she has right away" there's two that I like. I'm posting the links here to their websites.

https://www.walmart.com/ip/Perma-Soft...

https://www.comfortlining.com/1-count...

Oh that would be such a big help!!! Could you please send me the name of that??

The consulting dentist that she saw said the uppers were too long? He just wanted to make a new set that she could not afford for $1,500 or $2,000. To long? Are the teeth to long, where they are hitting the lower denture when she eats or talks? The area inside the denture palate I believe it's called the (trough) could need adjusting. That would be simple just to take some material out of the inside of the denture. She should not need a new set, just some adjustments.

Is there any place she can go to just make the uppers shorter??? -There should be an affordable dentures or one day dentures. There is one by me here in Pensacola, so there should be one by her. I can look up some info when I get free time. My opinion is, she just needs a few adjustments, not new dentures. Does she have a friend or family member that could go with her, this way the dentist isn't talking her into new dentures that are to expensive.
She is in Florida Boynton Beach
She is broke now.

I have no idea why the dentist did not make temporarys?- In my experience, if you get extractions all in one day the dentist most always gives you the temporary denture to act as a bandage. This helps the healing process.

Her dentist never told my friend she should have permanent one's made My friend paid $5,000 + and the extractions were extra and done at a surgeons office for another large sum above the $5,000+ That's so expensive. I originally had mine done at affordable dentures, then later had them made by Russell. But, for 23 teeth and temporary dentures mine came to $4,600.00 extractions and temp dentures.

I thought that link I sent you of sample teeth was to pick out a color or a shape from RT?? That could be. I do know he sends 3 shades of teeth with the impression kit.

I am hoping she can get a temporary fix on these dentures and then order from RT because he takes a while I understand??? -It takes around 2-3 months. Give or take depending on how the wax tryin works out etc.. It depends on the person and how everything fits etc. It's a lot of mailing back and forth. He is very good about returning emails etc when you need him.

Now, why I chose Russell? The quality of the denture is better for the price. Usually for the price you pay with Russells dentures, you can't get that from a local dentist. Local dentist are also charging for the time that's taken up when a person comes into the office and materials etc.. Since there is no dental office and we're mailing back next forth we bypass those extra fees.

I hope that I helped your friend out some, wish I could help morw. I'm not a professional at all in this area, just a patient and observer, but willing to help out anytime. :)

All excellent suggestions
am going to try to get my friend to move in some positive  direction so she will be happy
I will send your comments to her and see if she will follow up on your suggestions

The bottom  dentures are a real nightmare.
She never could wear them one day

I hope she does something with these dentures or with RK

Todd are you the person that said you wanted top implants to feel better because you were a young guy?

Well below is some information from Costa Rico if you are up for that
kind of adventure
It is also a beautiful vacation place
You are young and you probably would enjoy the vacation.

$6,000 is very inexpensive and if you dont need their provisinal denture it would be less?

Naturally you will have to investigate these places and their credentials
very carefully before you commit  but it sounds great to me

Thank you all for your replies.

Elisha, I am  British but currently living in France which is why I am interested in being able to buy some sort of temporary dentures online.

Barbara, I'm having it done in hospital because there are a lot of teeth that have to come out at once and it seems that's how it's done here in France.  I don't need sedation - at least, that's how I feel right now. I might feel differently on the day!  I've already had an x-ray and there's no saving any of the teeth, unfortunately.

Cost wise,  we get our health care here partially funded by the state in return for taxes and social charges, with the rest funded by private health insurance. I've had a quote for around €1800 (about $2200)  for the dentures of which I will get around half refunded to me, and around €400 (just under $500) for the extractions.  If I was still in the UK, it would cost me around £250 - around $350 for the whole thing, dentures and extractions, on the NHS!

I am grateful for all your replies and I will keep you informed. I will now go and do some more research into Russell Klein's website.

Hi Leslie
Abut your friend and RK
Can you tell me a little more about your  friend and RK

I do understand that they take a long time

Did your friend have to pay extra every time she had the 3 try on dentures???
Were these jus try ns and nt the finished denture??
Do you know how much she paid???
Do you know if it was just for impressions or a finished product??

It would be very helpful if you knew what caused the delay and the cost of it

Is your friend still in communication with RK or has she given up???

Thank   you for responding

She does have a money problem but could afford an RK denture???

I would like to refer her to RK but want her to be happy at the results

I have one set from RK.  After my 2nd wax try in I was happy.  However the finished product was not based on the 2nd try in.  There wass a huge overbite and I could not bite into anything without popping the denture out.  I sent it back to be repaired and have had no teeth since April9th.  I belonged to the RK facebook group and learned that many people had been shipped incorrect dentures. Dentures they could not insert or did not fit.  As he has gotten busier, his quality has deminished.  Multiple times people have to go back and forth with their dentures.  If you post anything negative about RK in the group, the group dumps you and you are blocked. You are taking a chance on RK, that's all I'm saying.

I totally agree, Leslie!! I can't believe that after many months of that back and forth routine and costs, he sent me a pair of bucktoothed uppers that barely stay in even with quality adhesive! I can't bite into anything and they're totally misaligned! Paypal is helping me get a portion of the costs I paid on their site. He even tried to bill another credit card I had on the Etsy site for another $389.25 for Unauthorized purchase. I was shocked! He tried to play that off as a mistake but you know. Yep, very scammy. Beware!

And here I am again. It is now Aug./Sept. and I got my Dentures. Ultra thins. I must say, they do look great and produce a great smile. Talking is somewhat like having a hot potato in my mouth, speaking with a lisp. (And so does Margaret on her UTube presentations.) I have yet to try biting off a piece of food or chewing. For now I will hold off with that, as the dentures need do be polished to remove the burrs and ruff, sandy surfaces. I hope my little Dremel will not fail me. (I have been a denture wearer for 20 plus years, so I know what I'm talking about.) Overall, the old saying "You get what you pay for" is still applicable. I believe if I invest 300-500 $ for a hard reline of uppers and lowers, I will have perfect dentures that would normally cost ca. 4000.00 for the set. Good Luck to you all.

Leslie, that's funny. YOU have a denture on order from him. Yes. He's slow right now. It's tax season. He has more orders than ever. You are just mad you got removed as Admin on the RK facebook page you were moderating. Yes. Some people are on the third tryin. But that was THEIR CHOICE as the keep making changes. I know people who had 5 or 6 from the dentist! It pays to do more until you get them right. Funny how you loved him until you were removed...

In fact, looking at the FB group, you have ordered 2 uppers from him. You reallllyyyyy loved the one, then complained, then got mad when he would not fix it for free, then ordered another but each time it took you 2-3 months to get the process done. You even said, while moderating the group, you were going elsewhere then you ordered again. None of it made sense. Now it really doesn't.

I agree again Leslie. He fired his assistant (probably bc RK is too greedy and difficult to get along with) and so now he's supposedly working alone but...anyway, his work is bad, real bad with some. If you complain you are shut out of the group. I haven't said a word in the group bc I KNOW they will block me. lol RK is a scam artist pure and simple.

Now that I know RK being the place to get dentures, all I need is the name of the place to get some Happy Pills to lift my spirits. I can tell some people here like to take double doses of nasty pills. - I don't care if RK is a person or a group. It would be nice to know who the technician is making them.  I just wish there was more transparency. I can tell by "his" e-mail responses that they are written by numerous people, who do not read the past communications and issues. - Since I have little money, but lots of time, I will wait until the wax is 100% before I approve final completion of the dentures. It is a PITA process, but @ 70 it provides me with free entertainment.

It may be that RK's craftmanship has deteriorated because he is not the one making the dentures as the Etsy rule of handmade goods. Maybe he has hired untrained people and does not do quality control inspection before something leaves one of his labs.  Better to make you own dentures at home.  Join the Do Your Own Dentures on Facebook. I do hope that someday the online denture ordering will get good but so far they seem to not be consistant with quality workmanship so making your own dentures can be an option. For about $250 in tools and supplies you can make several sets of dentures for yourself. It is doable.

RK dentures will never work right even if you could get them done because he  does not extend the denture to the back of the ridges so they must always be pasted in even if he could get the rest of it done right. You may find a few people who say they are satisfied but most are saying they are not satisfied.  Make  your own dentures

I am in the processes of getting a set. I found a guy named Sal R on etsy i found a few testimonials on you tube saying he is a good dentist. I contacted him and he gave me a quote and explained that it will take some back and forth. So i decided to try him out i paid $800.00 for the dentures and $79 for the impression kit this is also in Canadian currency. I was quoted $500. 00 for the dentures and $50 for the impression kit in US currency . The cheapest quote around my area was $1500.00 Canadian so i have saved a lot of money. Everytime i have emailed Sal he got back to me within hours of me sending the email. In one of the comments someone wasn't happy about the back and forth because u have to do the impressions send them back witch i did the upper wrong so he sent another impression kit at no charge. Then i got the wax bit i just sent it in witch the uppers are a lil big so he will have to fix that before he casts them .so so far i am vary pleased and i would defiantly recommend him if u dont mind it takeing some time but that what u will have to sacrifice to get them a the cheepest cost. My only complaint is there could be better instrutions so if u get stuck on something just google it and watch the you tube video that come up. Another person asked how much did the persons extraction cost. I am not sure if its the same wherever u live but in Canada if your teeth are so bad that it's detrimental to your health we have some coverage through the Government called Ohip and they will pay for it.

In this country the government pays nothing for dental
unless you have no income and qualify for Medicaid

So the Canadian system is much better
I hope you are paying for this on a credit card
