Bottom dentures

It’s been close to 2 years. Everything is healed, permanent dentures in. I hate them. I can’t bite into anything. Even a piece of toast. The bottom part of my face has completely changed. By no means am I a vain person but when family and friends are finally agreeing that you look different it’s depressing. I’ve been told basically oh well learn to live with it. I’m trying a new dentist tomorrow. I’m praying there is a solution.

You r not alone.  I have no bone on bottom and I use SECURE it the best out there.  Without SECURE I would be just like you.  When u have no bone there is nothing that can be done.  I am 70 and have been wearing dentures on bottom for years.  For me I only wear them if I have to.  I am married and I guess I have accepted my issue, but if I was single I would have a big problem.  BTW there is a dating site CUPID for people who wear Dentures.  Just a thought.  Good Luck

Hi Mike
We want to know ho you made out with your lower denture and your visit to your new dentist

It seems most people are miserable with their lower dentures and many  people can't eat or even use them.

Of course a great solution is to get the an over denture secured with 2 to 4  implants
However  that does cost more then a regular  denture

I went for a permanent bridge over implants and never had any pain or discomfort   It is exactly like my own teeth  That was 10 years ago and it is still perfect

So let us know where you are with your lower denture  because this is a learning and helping site and we learn from each other
