Hi all first would like to say I thought I was the only one. It helps a little knowing that there are others out there that feel ugly and can't eat. I'm 50 and this is very hard for me plus I'm very vain and poor I use to be a nurse and help everyone now nobody helps me because I'm disable and poor. At least that's how I feel. I got all my teeth pulled in 5 mins (I kind u not) 3 wks ago and my top are ok hurt and need more adjusting but the bottoms are driving me crazy I almost broke them into yesterday I was so tried of not being able to eat or drink and the pain that they cause when u try to eat it's not worth it. I have used fixodent, prolly grip , seabon, Nothing makes them stay I have used the right amount too much I have tried drying my gums off till It feels like I have a mouth of cotten . No matter what I eat or drink the bottoms flop around causing more pain and more sores. What do I do I have looked on Amazon at the different stuff and I plan on getting stuff on the 3 if I last that lon. There's got to be a better answer out there.

Dentist talked me into getting implants......4 for lower dentures. Very expensive and they don't help very much.

I'd go back to your dentist and have him do another adjustment. When I use adhesive, I don't eat or drink for a half hour or so. It's a pain but it helps keep the adhesive working. I've tried several kinds. The one that works for me is fixodent free that doesn't have any colors or flavors. I'm at six months and am waiting on my permanent dentures. Pain in the rear but it will he worth it.

I have tried everything to keep my bottom dentures in also and have had several relined multiple times! Don't have enough money to get implants on bottom.

I've had mine for 10 months and it's a nightmare. The second I eat and sometimes drink they lift up.. I have to carry around fixodent and always have to excuse myself where ever I am to go to the bathroom and reapply fixodent....this happens a bunch of times a day.. Had many relinements and adjustments. I was told I don't have enough bone?? they want to do mplants which I don't have any money for and so many people have told me they really don't work. Besides I think it would feel to funky without my dentures when I try to sleep feeling those metal pegs sticking up against my mouth, anybody have any suggestions?I've even tried that stuff Secure, OMG that stuff is vile

I have been through this for the last year and a half. Upsetting going into the ladies room at restaurants and putting on adhesive without anyone seeing you. Went to the dentist for my check up. I still have teeth on top. I only wear a bottom denture. He suggested because my bottom was so loose I get a new denture. So I took his advise. I have a new denture for only one week today and what a difference. It was hard for the first 5 days but finally I can eat and without any adhesive whatso ever. These new dentures are so much better. I can't even move them with my tongue. I would never think about implants. It sounds so painful having stubs in your mouth. I heard you need to clean them very carefully too. So talk to your dentist you might need to have new ones made too

In reference to cleaning the implants: is there a special procedure in doing this? I got my implants 4 weeks ago and was not told how to clean them. What I have been doing is just rinsing my mouth with an oral antiseptic.....is there more?

Pam I am very sorry and I know We are with your pain,I did wait almost 10 years for my dentures, and like you I don't have money,But Thanks to medical cover $7000.00 of brand new dentures plus I did paid extra of my own pocket $600,00 for a better quality and color (white) Dentures is a new world that I do try to adjust ,So you are not alone.Like you try everything and every brand ,,,The key is that dentures have to feel OK and that a job of your dentist,my didn't let me go in my last visit (last fitting) until my dentures fit correctly ..he even adjust many times and do a re-lineaments .Then you need to try a product call Secure (DenTek Secure Denture Bonding Cream), is in amazon cost $9.00 and watch some videos in You tube to learn how to apply it ,it works great the uppers wont even moved for 14 hrs and is not easy to removed ,the bottoms will work great ..give a try and you know for a wile you need to learn to eat different food, soft for a wile ...until you adjust....give a try and I hope I give you some Hope........trust me  been without teethes for a long time was horrible but is a adjustment we all have to do..Good luck

The other thing I've tried is the ezo pads for the bottom. It does help. You have to warm them up and trim to fit. I put adhesive on them before I put the pad in and then on top of them. I get around 4 to 6 hours before I have to apply more adhesive.

Thank you Frank and Annie! I've been wondering about the Secure and also the EZO pads. It's nice to find people that have used them.

I think I'll wait until I get my permanent dentures to see if I need the though. I still think (strictly my opinion-no one has said it to me) that due to all of the hills and valleys in our mouths the adhesives on the market are having a hard time keeping dentures in, that also have hills and valleys if you've had a soft reline. They make great products for people who are all healed and their gums are even, but what about us?

If I had the money and the knowledge I would try to invent something for people like us. FIXODENT - there's an opportunity here. I can't be the first one to suggest this am i? If you do it soon enough I would volunteer to be a guinea pig!

I am glad I can help a any ways to somebody, Dentures are a big job to make it work,I was without teethes for along time ,so my gums didn't shrink , But after few months I am still work it on it,Tell you my top fit perfect and after 13 hrs with secures is not easy to removed, works wonderful ,the bottoms it getting better  .You have to adjust to eat different,is not the same that before losing teeth. It take times but you are not alone .I did try every product in the market and till now the only one is secure as long you apply in the right way (like the video show).
Wish you good luck and don't give up, you will find the right product.

ok, I'm gonna' put in my thoughts on this one too.  I'm new and have only had my dentures for a little over a week.  I have tried the fixodent free and the fixodent plus gum care and I can't stand that stuff in my mouth after I take them out.  I still have the open sockets where 27 teeth were so it's hard to find a place to put the glue.  I have had the best luck with the Seabond adhesive seals.  They don't leave glue in the holes and they come off of the denture easily.  They hold pretty good but mine still don't fit properly.  I still have lots of healing to do.  But today I kept them in for 3 hours until I couldn't stand it anymore.  The Seabond also cushions a little.

The secure by dentek works best of all the. The brands I've tried. It is pricy but so glad my dentist sold it to me. I do want to try the powder and the seabiond. My mouth is tiny. I have had my dentures for under a month but waited months before getting them. I hardly wear them. I have not learned to eat with them but they don't hurt me. I keep practicing. I can talk better with them. My bottoms pop out mid meal. The dentist says I basically have no gums top or bottom. I'm only 39. I found this site by trying to search how to get the adhesive off my gums.
